Jesus became the Messiah and Savior of all of us on Earth who accept salvation, believe, and live Christian lives.
Supposedly in Bethlehem initially; unfortunately there is not documentation of a town named Bethlehem in any historical records. Then they lived for a time in Egypt, then Nazareth before he went on the road full time.
Herod the Great wanted to kill Jesus. When Joseph, Mary and Jesus fled to Egypt, Herod had no authority there. Even if he could have sent men into Egypt to kill Jesus, they probably could not have found the family.
Mary lived in Nazareth at the time of the Annunciation and was engaged to Joseph at the time so we must assume that he also lived there. After Joseph and Mary, with the infant, Jesus, returned from Egypt. They lived in Nazareth.Joseph lived in Nazareth
Possibly in his 40's-50's, the Bible does not say, but Jewish extra-biblical sources say he was an older man (not aged) and Jesus had brothers and sisters, so he can't have been too old to father children.
Jesus escaped to Egypt from Bethlehem, not Nazareth. King Herod, who wanted to kill him, ordered the massacre of all infant boys in Bethlehem, prompting Joseph and Mary to flee to Egypt with Jesus to keep him safe.
He traveled from Nazareth to Bethlehem with Mary, where Jesus was born. From Bethlehem he took his family to Egypt. From Egypt they returned to Nazareth.
He was born in Bethlehem, then his family traveled to Egypt (where he spent his early years), then his family returned to Nazareth (where they were originally from).
Jesus was a few years old after they returned to Nazareth from Egypt.
Nazareth. This small town is still around today in the north of Israel. This was where Joseph was from and where the family returned to, after the flight into Egypt. Jesus thus spent most of His growing up years there.
They returned to Judea, and eventually settled n Nazareth.
In Matthew's Gospel, Joseph fled to Egypt with Jesus and Mary, and remained there until Herod died. However, in Luke's Gospel, Joseph, Jesus and Mary did not go the Egypt. So which (if any) is correct? Many New Testament scholars say that neither nativity story is correct. John Shelby Spong says in Born of a Woman: A Bishop Rethinks the Birth of Jesus, Matthew was clearly writing Christian midrash.
Yes, according to the Bible, Jesus and his family fled to Egypt to escape King Herod's massacre of infants, making Jesus a refugee during that time.
Egypt
They returned to Nazareth after their visit to Jerusalem.
It is clear that Jesus, Mary and Joseph did not live long in Egypt. All thre of them returned to Nazareth soon after the death of king Herod. Here Joseph fled to Egypt when he was warned of Herods desire to kill Jesus in a dream and angel told him to return to Nazareth as well.

In Luke's Gospel, the Holy Family never went to Egypt. After the forty days for Mary's purification, they took Jesus from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, to be presented at the Temple, then returned to their home in Nazareth. They remained in Nazareth, because Luketells us that they travelled with Jesus each year from Nazareth to Jerusalem for the Passover. In Matthew's Gospel, the magi asked King Herod where to find the baby born to be king of the Jews. King Herod feared for his kingdom and sought to kill Jesus. This must have been at least a few years before he died of old age, because history tells us that he was not very concerned about the inheritance for his sons, and so must have feared for his own tenure. The young family fled to Egypt and remained there until Herod had died, but returned during the short reign of Arhelaus. They would have spent several years in Egypt.
