If the trees would be cut down to the roots and there was no green life we would have no oxygen because plants take in the carbon dioxide that we breathe out and turn it into oxygen this process is called 'Photosynthesis' the concern is we would all die if there was no plants

What happens to the infrared rays that the hot earth radiates?

They're ... radiated. Outward. Some of them get absorbed by stuff (trees, buildings, clouds, the atmosphere itself), some of them get reflected by stuff (trees, buildings, clouds, the atmosphere itself), some of them get scattered by stuff (you know the drill), some of them make it out of the atmosphere.

Where do trees get there nutrients from?

The Atmosphere!

Which types of trees absorb the most carbon from the atmosphere?

What happens to air as you go up in the atmosphere?

The air gets thinner. That's why if you are climbing a mountain the trees are shorter as you get to the top because they don't have as much air as the lower atmosphere.

What happens to carbon in rotting trees?

When trees rot, the carbon stored in the wood is released back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide through the process of decomposition. This carbon dioxide can then be taken up by other trees or plants through photosynthesis, completing the carbon cycle.

How Does Trees Obtain Carbon?

The Atmosphere

Some scientistis hypothesize that cutting down trees is adding to global warming which may be caused by the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere why might this be?

Cutting trees can cause global warming. Trees absorb carbon dioxide that is causing our greenhouse effect to get stronger.

How could cutting down trees lead to the build up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during photosynthesis. When trees are cut down and not replaced, this carbon dioxide is no longer absorbed, leading to an increase in its levels in the atmosphere. Additionally, when trees are burnt or decompose, the stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide.

Do planting trees help the atmosphere?

yes

What introduces oxygen into the atmosphere?

Trees and plants

What do trees get from atmosphere?

Trees mainly get carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere, which they use during photosynthesis to produce energy in the form of glucose. Additionally, trees also obtain oxygen, water vapor, and other essential gases from the atmosphere to support their growth and metabolism.
