There is often confusion over countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan, however these countries are considered to be in south Asia. Also some North African countries (Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, and Algeria) are sometimes called the Middle East because they are mostly Muslim country's however only Egypt is considered to be in North Africa AND the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Israel, the Palestinian Territory, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon.
Some countries that are sometimes mistakenly thought to be in the Middle East include Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkey. However, these countries are actually located in South Asia and Western Asia, respectively, rather than the Middle East.
They are more than fifty Muslim majority countries.
Turkey is not considered a Middle Eastern state; it is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, with a small portion of its land in the Middle East. In terms of land area, Turkey is one of the largest countries in the region.

The production of oil has made these countries very rich and now there are many jobs for both the people of the middle east countries as well as people from abroad. It has also given these countries incredibly strong diplomatic pull in the international arena.

Not in the Middle East, but it is in India. Islam is the predominant religion in most Middle Eastern countries. Often times it is an "Islamic Republic" or some type there of that actually governs the countries. Many of the countries of the Middle East are intolerant of other religions so the actual percentage of people that openly profess to be a different religion are small.
