Emo kids are generally the ones that wear more black, but also wear neon colours. most people that know what emo is, would say that not all emo's cut themselves, but it's generally more of the poseurs. A lot of people judge emo's based upon the way they act, and dress.
Scene:
Scene kids, referred to as 'Scenesters' usually wear more colours. Scenesters do socialize with people, but are still judged based upon the way they look. now scenesters do not cut, that's the big difference. There are many kinds of scenesters such as - Scenesters, Scenequeen, TecnoScene, or GlamScene. Either way, they all have bouncy, spunky, cheerful attitude's.
Now remember, these two sterotypes are both judged, and called the same, but there are differences. Scenes hate to be called emos, and vise versa for emos.

How do you know if your emo?
You're emo when you wear dark colors, eyeliner, listen to dark music (i.e. Evanescence, Iron Maiden, and Breaking Benjamin), don't need to go around declaring your supreme emoness, and on the inside you feel like one. Yes. Anyone can. It is actually really not a look if your emo. Emos are people who are agenst there lifes and want to die. Scene is completely diffrent. Its colourful and fun, it still has that kinda emo look but its not that diffrent. No one can easily pull scene off, you have to add LOTS of coulor to every inche of ur hair. You also have to be able to so LOTS of clevelage.
