When writing a polynomial, the term with the highest power usually goes first:

The 2x squared goes first.

You are asking for 3 points which solve:

-x + 2y = 2

We have both the x and the y on the same side of the equals sign, which doesn't help you very much. So our goal is to get y to be 'alone'. We call this "getting y in terms of x".

Since both the x and the y are of order 1, we know that this is a linear equation, so we expect that there are actually an infinite number of solutions.

-x + 2y = 2

2y = 2 + x

y = 1 + (1/2) *x

Now that we have the linear equation in slope-intercept form, we can simply plug in any 3 values that we want to get our answer. Try plugging in the numbers x=0, x=2 and x=4 as an easy example.

I own Fantom X6, and had a chance to play with G6 as well as G8. All these are pure top of the line workstations from Roland. Unless you have steel fingers, or prefer actual piano-hammer style keys - stay away from X8 - G8s. It will help you in a long run creating music. Both synths (X and Gs) excell with sound numbers and creation. Both are very good samplers. "Gs" add additional control - mouse input. Also "Gs" have a bigger screen - although you can use your computer to control either one of them!. Xs as well as Gs give you "up to 4 Stereo" sound blocks per patch. Fantom "Xs" have a Massive collection of additional XRS boards that you can buy and install (up to 4), where as Fantom "Gs" are still relitively young, and don't offer much in this field, but then what boards you can buy - give you much better control of fidelity with those sounds. "Gs" sequencer gives you up to 128 tracks (?!), where as "Xs" only 16 - but you can also program "Xs" sequencer to change your sounds on any/all tracks in any spot of your sequence. My upgraded "Xs" audio tracks (also part of sequencer) give me 8 - "Gs" give you 22. Now, personally speaking, because for me this plays the biggest part of sound creation - Fantom Gs offer the BIGGEST amount of real-time / at the same time "Insert effects" for sounds, of any workstation I know of - 22 TOTAL. As stated before, you can virtually sample any sound you wish on both of these platforms, but not even Korg (Oasys) gives you that many sound effects to play with at the same time!. That, for me, shows real power for audio keyboard workstations.
