Is the story about the ether scam true?
The story involves a woman being approached by a stranger in a parking lot who is offering fancy perfume for a discount cost. He or she offers the victim a sniff, and when she does, she passes out and wakes up robbed!
It turns out it was ether!
It also turns out that this was always just an Urban Legend. There was a woman who did report that she was knocked out that way, but the hospital found nothing in her bloodstream. She claimed to have lost $800.
Besides that, every other story is completely without basis. And in truth, to mild sniffs of a small bottle containing some ether is probably not going to knock out anyone. Ether isn't exactly freely available either.

How many companies does Robert Ziff own?
Robert Ziff (son of infamous publishing giant William Ziff Jr) currently does not hold ownership of or day-to-day responsibilities of governing any company. He took over Ziff/Davis Publishing Company and built the Niche magazine world (things like PC World, Car & Driver, etc.) but sold 95% of the shares to Forstmann Little in '94.
He and his two brothers also started Ziff Family Investments but this company does not serve the public. It was formed when he seeded Daniel Och for his 10% stake in the family wealth.
What is the oldest cosmetic company that is still in business today?
The oldest cosmetics company still in business today is Yardley London. Yardley London can trace its roots back to 1620 when Jonathan Yardley obtained a royal warrant for the provision of all the soap to City of London. Unfortunately any documentation of this warrant was lost in the great fire of London in 1666, so legally the company can only claim to have been founded in 1770, when William Yardley established the House of Yardley, which is documented. That would still predate Japanese cosmetics company Shiseido by 102 years.

I'm surprised there is nothing clear on the web already about this but Black's Law Dictionary's (5th Ed) several page definition of "corporation" does not contain the word "trust" so I would think a trust cannot be considered a corporation. I'm curious since an American franchises frachise agreement containes the words "if the corporation is a trust....", which I think is erroneous, based on lack of web clarity and Black's Law dictionary.

A safety officer can be someone like a police officer who is engaged in law enforcement.
A safety officer can also be the person in a workplace who is responsible for assuring that the work is done in compliance with the workplace health and safety standards and regulations. Establishing such a position is usually part of an immature company safety culture and often results in the "safety officer" becoming an enforcement agent (and the employees complying only when he is present.) A workplace safety program works better i the long run when a Safety Specialist, rather than a Safety officer, is in place and can operate as a guide and adviser to management and labor.
A safety officer is a person in an organization to set a vision, to establish a plan, to implement the planed procedures and to follow-up and audit, in order to ensure a safer workplace. therefore his scope extends much beyond a "Police officer's duty". He acts as a policy maker, supplies officer, trainer, police officer and a Savior to minimize accidents to save people, properties, cost and the environment. Safety officer therefore is a highly productive position in any establishment.

Do you think DeVry University is a scam?
Devry is not scam. But I do not know why you would want to attend.
They market themselves as being accredited. But just do this, call a real college, like your local state U, and ask if they accept credits from Devry.
Their answer will be "no"
Actually they will. Regionally accredited schools usually don't have much trouble transferring credits. Usually the reason a course doesn't transfer is that it is not an 80% course match to the school your transferring to. Another reason is that there is no where for the course to go. For example, an advanced business course from Harvard will not transfer to your IT program at your state school. There is no where to put it.
>> Oh really? Those who are thinking about attending Devry, do yourself a favor.. See what a degree from this for profit school will get you where you want to take it.
Don't take what I am saying, or anyone tells you about this school as fact. Just do your own research. Call up companies where you want to work, call grad schools you want to attend, and ask "so what will a degree from Devry get me here"
If its a fortune 1000 company, any public or non-profit private school, or even a reputable technical school/business/institution, or government office, you'll see that they don't recognize Devry degrees. No need to bicker about this further, just do your own research, and see what a degree from Devry will get you.<<
So what value will you get from attending a college whose credits are NOT transferable to another school, whose degree can not be used to get a higher degree somewhere else, and who charges significantly more money then a state college?
This school does charge more than a state school, but it is not an expensive school. A DeVry degree will run you about $65000. This is below average for a private school.
You can answer that question for yourself.
Many former students of Devry feel duped because counselors (Devry sales people who are paid commission on how many classes you enroll in) tell prospective students Devry degrees are good in normal, non profit, colleges.
Paying commissions to admissions reps is not allowed at any for profit school that uses federal funding.
>> Devry counselors are paid on performance basis, one of the determinants is how many classes the students under your service sign up for. Just ask any current or former counselor. If they are honest, they'll repeat what im saying here. They are trained on how to hard sell students in order collect GI benefits from the government. The students who attend Devry are usually in a tough situation that makes attending/getting Degree very hard (single mothers with children, working 4 jobs etc). But regardless of what their situation may be, counselors are told the more classes they sign them up for, the bigger their paycheck will be<<
If you have a degree from Devry, and you want to get a Masters from a place other then Devry, you will very likely need to start all over again earning a bachelors from a state/private college.
This also is not true. The only situations I have seen this are business students that need an AACSB accredited degree. What is funny about this is that many top tier schools don't have this accreditation. Due to many of the restrictions, typically only larger schools have this.
>> Don't take what im saying, or anyone else says as fact. Do your own research. See where you want to take your Degree from Devry. 999 about of 1000, you'll see your degree is not welcome there, and neither will you, because your name is printed on it<<
Another thing to consider is that Devry has very low acceptance standards, they will accept anyone who can pay their fees.
The acceptance rates are high, but there are some entrance requirements. They are actually higher than a junior college. I don't think anyone will compare this school with an Ivy League school, but that's not the point. Most students that attend here are on their second or third school. They are trying to earn a degree at a non traditional college to better themselves.
>> Right..But the difference between a junior college and Devry is that classes from Junior colleges are transferable to any private/non profit college. Devry's are not. Don't take my word for, call up school you want to attend and ask. <<
>>To summarize, I want to emphasize that Devry is not a scam. The issue here is whether it will get you anything you think it will get you. As long as students are informed that their degree from Devry will not recognized by any reputable company/real school/government office, the student should still attend if he/she wishes too<<
>>Devry also has a staggering drop out rate, and jobs students get after graduation tend to be menial low wage job. Because again, you have proved nothing by attending and graduating. My recommendation is to let a real college handle all your education needs. If you just want to learn for the sake of learning, just walk into a free library<<
