All adult fish should be fed in the morning and again in the evening, They should be fed as much as they can eat in 15 minutes. A good quality food suitable for their species Neons and Guppies would be OK with tropical fish flakes. All fish need to have their diets suplemented with live or fresh food occasionally.

What happens is the food rots in the tank. This rotting/decay creates gas (Ammonia) and that will poison the fish and burn its gills. This results first in sick fish and then death.

Guppies are a community fish and are best kept in odd numbered groups with more females than males; for example, a group of 3 guppies with 2 females and 1 male. The reason for a higher female to male ratio is because males will fight with each other for matting rights to the females.
