Does guppies need air?

like all fish they do. Their gills get the oxygen they need through the O (oxygen) in H2O (water).

My guppies are always close to the bubbles of the pump why is this?

The guppies are short of oxygen. You should attach the air hose to a filter which will remove Ammonia biologically if you wish to do any good at all with your air pump. The bubbles are just stirring up the water and not improving anything. My advice is do a water change ASAP to remove the ammonia that is poisoning your fish. Guppies are tropical and need a temperature of around 75F. The rules for successfull fish keeping are :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water changed every week. Keep the above rules and your fish stand a chance. Fail in any of them and I can guarantee that you will have constant health problems with your fish.

Can you breed two guppie siblings together or will the fry end up deformed?

Most guppies are so inbred that it doesn't really matter what you do. If you have some special "line bred" guppies, it may be worth your while to introduce another 'Line' of the same type and strengthen the strain by cross, line and in-breeding. In order to do this correctly you would have to follow the Mendellian princples of inheritance.

What do you do when you have a female guppy who is pregnant constantly being harassed by male guppies and If separate her she panics I tried putting her in a fishbowl and breeding net and panics?

Leave the poor fish alone. That is how guppies behave. I assume the tank is planted and there is plenty of cover for both the female and the fry and that your tank is large enough for the fish you have plus the extras when the female has her youngsters. The correct ratio is "1 inch of fish must have a minimum of 1 gallon of water". (preferably more).

Can you put seven guppies together?

Why are your guppies not eating?

The most common cause for fish to go off their food is bad water. The next most common is bad or wrong parameters for the species. Try doing a few large water changes and check that its pH and temperature are OK and the filter is working properly.

Some female Cichlids particularly African Rift lake Cichlids are maternal mouth brooders. This means that they carry their fertilized eggs and eventually the fry in their mouths until they hatch and the mother can't keep them in her mouth any longer due to space. look for a bulge in the chin area and as she breathes you might be able to catch a peek of the eggs or fry in her mouth when she opens it.
