Possibly. Everyone is unique. Hypnosis certainly has potential for treating this speech disorder.
The underlying cause of stuttering may not be the same for everyone. Thus, everyone may not respond as well to the same type of therapy. Some people achieve good results with hypnotherapy while others have not responded as well.
Hypnosis is a powerful tool for positive change, especially when practiced by a thoughtful and accomplished practitioner. Just as all physicians are not created equal, not all hypnotherapists are created equal either. If you stutter, it is certainly worth trying.
I have read of people trying hypnosis for stuttering with no results.

Where can one learn self hypnosis techniques?
In performing arts, for stage hypnosis and the like, you'll probably want to find a local stage hypnotist and see if she takes students. Sometimes there are also people in school performing arts departments who know some hypnosis and teach it. Unfortunately, hypnosis is not a full course of study at universities. So to get a full range of techniques, you'll want to find someone with plenty of real-world experience.
Fortunately, the techniques for stage & clinical hypnosis are relatively similar. Both use rapid inductions and direct and indirect suggestion to produce controlled states in the hypnotic subject. (The only difference, one's going for weight loss, the other to make you act like a chicken!) If you can't find a local stage hypnotist, see if any local hypnotherapists offer classes in addition to their clinical work. Even if you only learn a few basics, in-person training can really get you started right.
You best bet might be taking a training, either in-person or with home study DVDs, from a recognized hypnosis academy. There are a number of competing hypnosis certification groups (like the National Board of Hypnosis and the National Guild of Hypnotists, to name just two) and a lot of courses out there. Most trainings take place over a weekend or a full week. Usually, the home study DVD courses are videotapes of these trainings. I've seen a few, and most don't have great video quality. However, several have great training quality. I'm a personal fan of Mark Cunningham's trainings, and he also has two extensive stage hypnosis courses. His brash style's not for everyone, though; when you find someone you might like, do your due diligence and see if they have videos on YouTube.
Finally, have fun with it! Hypnosis is great, and it's a wonderful skill to have.
Highly unlikely, unless the mouse was genetically engineered or something.
How do you go about dehypnotizing someone?
Hypnotic trances are not permanent; the person will come out of it naturally. Perhaps the person will fall asleep and then awaken, no longer in the trance. If you have concern that a person is in danger of harm to self or someone else, then do what you can to prevent the person from leaving or call the authorities if the person does leave. The prevailing wisdom (not a fixed law) is that a person will not do under a trance anything that the person would not normally do.
Can you be hypnotized to be psychic?
People claim they are psychic, but no one knows for sure. Everyone is Psychic, but you need to develop your inner psychic. see- www.realpsychicpeople.webs.com for more information.
The more important thing to know is that psychics could only give you their readings about you, it doesn't mean that it is accurate as in word by word, or that you should follow what he said. The thing is, it should be with in you on how you would interpret those readings and use them on your life.
How does hypnosis really work?
Hypnosis puts the person who is being hypnotized into a relaxed state and you can converse with their subconscious mind without their notice.
Hypnotherapy deals with the cause. It is an interactive process that I will lead you through so that you can resolve any unconscious self imposed limitations from your past which you may be bringing into the present. My intent is to lead you to your own source of inner wisdom and allow you to take full control of your life.
I was hypnotized by a psychology graduate student for her PhD research, which was an interesting experience. It was weird to do lots of stuff while not really remembering the exact details of what happened except hearing her voice. I'm told that when in a trance my eyes were open, I stood and walked around, answered questions, and did all the tasks needed for her study - she was very pleased with the results. But I can only recall her instructions, and during my trance saw nothing but the revolving spiral she used to hypnotize me - it completely filled my conscious mind.
Later I visited a hypnotherapist to find out if the same would happen again - it did, but I remember more. It was like dreaming but being awake - I hallucinated lots of things, and had imaginary conversations with people who were not there. It felt like I was floating in a void, but hanging on to every word spoken and responding without any conscious effort - things just seemed to happen!
I have also been hypnotized by a counsellor/ psychotherapist who uses the conversational method of hypnosis. Basically this consists of listening to a story which contains triggers that cause you to focus and relax until eventually you enter a trance without realizing it. The first time this happened I did not know it had... until I was told to "come back", and found my arm raised right up in the air above my head!
I was never out of control - it's not like that! To be hypnotized you have to be willing to let it happen, but if you are like me and are curious about it, and are happy to go along with the process without questioning or over analyzing everything, then some amazingly interesting and enjoyable experiences can result.
What do you do to hypnotize people?
All hypnosis is self hypnosis. So, so long as you have a way with words, and are able to manipulate people into believing what you're saying is true, they you will be successful at hypnotism.
Basically what it boils down to is that if the person being hypnotized doesn't believe they can be hypnotized, they WILL NOT be hypnotized.
Hypnosis does not tap deeper into you subconscious, or any of that BS, it's just really good sales men telling you "YOU CAN DO IT!"
How do you feel during hypnosis?
You are in a trance during every waking moment. How do you feel right now? We move from trance to trance while we are awake, and we even live out a life-trance. Being in a trance is no big deal. The idea is to awaken from a less healthy trance into a more healthy one.

Yes, psychiatrists usually have a degree in psychology which involves at least knowledge of social sciences. As for 'physical sciences, chemistry and biology are important in understanding how people act as well as how psychiatric drugs affect patients.
Where can someone be hypnotized?
A person can be hypnotized anywhere, at any time, though there are varying physical and environmental conditions which are conducive towards hypnotism.
It isn't recommended that a person be hypnotized other than by a properly qualified practitioner, usually holding at least a degree in psychology plus post-graduate studies in hypnotism.
Such a person will always show their credentials in this field. If they are reluctant to do so, or evasive, stay away from them.
What happens when you are hypnotized?
Experiences are subjective and variable: some people do not "feel" hypnotized even though they clearly are. Generally, you are in a very relaxed but "hyperattentive", very focused, state during which peripheral awareness is much reduced, or even eliminated. Although it is likely you'll remain aware of background sounds etc, they will seem distant and irrelevant, and your attention will be "fixed" on whatever the hypnotist suggests or directs. Sometimes it may seem his/ her voice is "inside" your head, or it seem very "distant", like a "thread" on which you're suspended.
Physically, you'll probably be very still and not feel much desire to move; limbs may feel very heavy, or you may experience a general "lightness" as if floating in the air. Your eyes may water quite a lot (due to relaxation of tear ducts), and you will probably salivate and swallow more than you normally do. Eyes are likely to move rapidly - from side to side; up and down, or just generalized - and eyelids will flicker. If very deeply hypnotized it's quite likely your eyes will roll right up into your head, and remain there easily. Although generally heart rate decreases, in some cases it may speed up, and it is also not uncommon to experience increased bodily warmth, and sometimes reddening of the face/ flushing.
Very deeply hypnotized people may be embarrassed by spontaneous penile or clitoral erection, but as this normally only occurs in those in a "somnambulistic" hypnotic state, in which active self-awareness is much reduced and trance amnesia common, it generally isn't as big a problem as might be imagined.
For most people being hypnotized is a profoundly pleasant experience during which they're totally self-aware: it is often described as like a "waking dream" or just "zoning out", and as already indicated, many don't even think anything has happened other than just sitting or lying very still and listening to another person talk to them. In truth, that is really all it is - a very focused and intense form of interpersonal communication. Even the minority (maybe 10%) who go so "deep" they experience amnesia etc only do so because they're predisposed, able and willing so to do, and have, therefore, in a sense, given consent. Bottom line is you can not be hypnotized unless you want to be; your basic mind set, attitudes, and capabilities will determine the level of trance attained, and - crucially - you will only do what is within your own bounds of acceptibility.

Hypnosis for weight loss is a fairly new method that people are using to get the weight off once and for all. It's not very popular, but it does exist and people do use it. You might be considering using hypnosis as a means for getting yourself into the right mindset for weight loss. Additionally, if you find that you're not losing weight despite your efforts, hypnosis for weight loss could work for you also.
Is it possible to read a story and be hypnotized?
Yes - anyone who is deeply absorbed in reading a story IS hypnotized!
At its most basic, being "hypnotized" is simply being in a mental state where your concentration is highly focused on something (eg reading, watching a movie, listening to music, undertaking a task requiring intense concentration etc) to the exclusion of all else. So, someone who is "lost in a book", or "daydreaming", or fascinated by someone/ something, is in a state of hypnosis.
When about to fall asleep, you are hypnotized - you can not go to sleep without being in this state.

For which people is Hypnosis likely to be be least helpful?
It really depends on what you mean by "helpful" or the negative thereof? Basically the facts are some of us are more easily hypnotised than others. Usually people with an intense imaginitive life respond best to hypnotism but for hypnosis to be successful it is essential you must first want to be hypnotised. The second requirement is your ability to relax and thirdly it may be dependent on the way your brain works..
So To try to answer your question, I submit the three key factor in you being successfully hypnotised are
1.that you believe it is going to work on you,
2. that you have the will and
3. you have the motivation to make whatever change in your behaviour is involved 4., That you yourself are not somebody who cannot be hypnotised.
Because importantly not everyone is able to be hypnotized. According to research conducted by the Stanford School of Medicine in the USA. about 15% of the world population appear to be "highly hypnotizable", around 60% can be hypnotised with more difficulty and 25% are thought to be not hypnotizable at all.
Why is this you may well ask? That is a really complex and controversial issue. But it seems that changes in people's brain activity have been found in some studies of highly responsive hypnotic subjects. These changes vary depending upon the type of suggestions being given to you, the state of light to medium hypnosis, whereit appears the body undergoes physical and mental relaxation associated with a pattern mostly of alpha waves.
The Stanford University study cites evidence that the brains of people who can not be hypnotised differ from those who can easily be. In the brains of people they found to be highly hypnotizable it was found the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, that is an executive-control region of their brain, appeared to be activated in tandem with the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex, which is part of the salience network. It is that which is known to play a key role in focusing the individual's attention. The Standford University studies found little functional connectivity between these two areas of people's the brain of those individuals with low hypnotizability.
But very many have used clinical hypnotherapy to change their behaviour successfully. One factor in assessing this is that people who consult a hypnotherapist to address their anxieties, phobias, or stop such bad habits as smoking or overeating causing them obesity are highly motivated to change their behavior as well as being highly likely to have a high degree of faith in the process of hypnotherapy . So that is likely to mean they are extremely motivated to adopt the role of being a hypnotic subject and that also involves them being very willing to listen to positive suggestions from the hypnotherapist specifically because they may have this personal commitment or in some cases are absolutely desperate to overcoming their problems. Similarly people with phobias and bulimia also appear to score high on hypnotic susceptibility scales and to respond favourably to hypnotic intervention.
As for Stage Hypnosis it is also believed by many to be indication of the successful controlling people's minds. But whether that really is the case is highly controversial. Stage hypnosis is essentially a popular form of entertainment employed in a club or theatre before an audience where the hypnotist typically tries to hypnotise the entire audience. Then he chooses individuals who are "under" to come up to the stage and he makes them do silly and perhaps embarrassing things while the audience watches in amusement.
Although there is some controversy, many claim rightly or wrongly that the effects of stage hypnosis are not really mind control but probably due to a combination of psychological factors, participant selection, deception and other sorts of trickery such as people planted in the audience who pretend their mind is being totally controlled against their will just to make the show more entertaining.
What is the best weight loss hypnosis CD program?
As a hypnotherapist I recommend self-hypnosis. No matter how good a hypnosis program may look, you never know if they use subliminal messages. It's pretty difficult to find a good hypnotherapist, let a lone a good hypnosis program. In order to give a helpful answer I would need to know more about the problem and why this question has been asked.
