The Small Intestine is made up of three parts, the Duodenum, the Illeum and the Jejunum. The duodenum is the very short first part at which the pancreactit juices are added. The illeum and jejunum arethe tangled mess that sit in the middle of the of the abdomen. The function of the small intestine is partly to continue digestion, as the stomach actually doesnt do all that much, and partly to absorb the usefull substanced from the food. The fact that it is very heavily relied upon for absorption means that its surface area is far more important than its length and this is increased by the presence of folds, Villie (smaller folds on the first that give the lining a velvety appearance) and Microvillie (the fingerlike projections from each cell that makes up the villie. This comination gives the small intestind a surface area rought equivalent to the size of two American football pitches. All that is packed down into just 7 meters (roughly) in the small intestine of a cadaver (substantionly shorter in life due to continuous contractions). The Large Intestine or Colon is made up of 4 parts, the Ascending Colon, the Transverse Colon, the Descending Colon and the Sigmoid Colon. The only function of the colon is to absorb water from the waste product as this is a vital resource. The length of the total colon is much shorter than the small intestine, oddly, at only arounf 2.5-3 meters.

If all you feed is dry food, try to get the cat to eat some canned food. Constipation can get serious, so discuss it with your vet. According to my vet occassional minor bulging is not serious but if you think it appears worse, a vet visit is needed

The symptoms of Hemorrhoid disease can differ from person to person. While in some patients symptoms is seen, others dont accompany any symptoms. Symptoms can mainly be bright red blood when passing stool and can be in stool itself, the toilet paper etc. Other symptoms associated with this disease could be patients experiencing painful swelling or hard lump around the anus that results mainly when a blood clot is formed. Others could be excessive straining, rubbing around the anal area. The symptoms for this disease aren't permanent and last for a few days.

When chyme (digested food from stomach) enters the Duodenum, Cholecystokinin is released, stopping hunger, triggering the release of bile (a waste product of the liver, that is stored in the gallbladder that breaks down fatty acids) and discharging enzymes from the pancreas which break down fats as well, along with carbs, proteins, and others. These are broken down as they pass through the Jejunum and the Ileum, but primarily in the Jejunum. In the Jejunum and the Ileum, tiny finger-like villi (singular, villus) rest on the walls, and they absorb glucose, fructose, and other simple materials that can be used as energy sources -- all of which were broken down in the gastrointestinal tract. They are never directly ingested from common foods. Once these are absorbed into the bloodstream, they reach the liver where they are broken down further. Unneeded amino acids are broken down into urea, a prime component of urine. Urea is sent to the kidneys. In the large intestine, some waters are absorbed during movement into the bloodstream of the passing waste product as it traverses the colon. When it reaches the rectum, it rests there until it is discharged. If it isn't, it returns back to the colon to absorb more water, probably to reduce weight and stress on the rectal ampella, where they are stored until discharge.
