Once you know which cylinder is misfiring, swap the coil of that cylinder with a known good cylinder, if the misfire follows to the other cylinder you have a dead coil. Coil 8 on the 8 cyl models has a TSB published that requires to get some special seal to keep water from leaking down and shorting coils. The last time I check the seal kit was around $50

It's your temperature sensor. I had the same problem. Dealership couldn't determine the cause since their diagnostic equipment could only capture the problem while it was occurring and my car wouldn't cooperate. After $1500 down the drain I finally lucked into Ford mechanic who had seen (and fixed) the problem for several others. It was another $1000 to fix it but have had no problems since. My LS has almost 170,000 miles on it and runs like a dream.

To program the Lincoln Town Car FOB (remote) you first need all the remotes you want to work with that car.
1) Put the key in the ignition.
2) Turn the key on till the dash gauges light up. Here's the trick: you need to turn the key from OFF to ON 3 times very quickly! You will know you done this correctly if your door locks lock and unlock by themselves.
3) Once you hear the door locks cycle, you need to push the lock button on your remote or remotes if you have more than one. You should see the locks working from the remote at this time.
Note: It is necessary to program all remotes to this vehicle at the same time, because any remotes that have been programed to this vehicle in the past will no longer work!
You only have a short time before the program mode of the vehicle resets, so be ready.
