You fast in Ramadan in obedience of God command to you. By fasting Ramadan, you hope that you will be rewarded by God mercy and forgiveness. In addition, you hope that fasting Ramadan develops in you self-discipline, self-control, and piety as well as continuous obedience to God and prophet Muhammad teachings and commands.
When you begin the fast.
Wa Bisawmi Ghadinn Nawaiytu min Shahri Ramadan
I intent to keep fast today for the month of ramadaan
When you are breaking the fast.
Allahumma inni laka sumtu WA bika aamantu [WA 'alayka tawakkaltu] WA 'ala rizq-ika aftarthu
O Allah! I fasted for you and I belive in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance
Praying Taraweeh is compulsory neither for women nor for men. It is voluntary praying hoping to bring us closer to Allah (God in English) and wishing to be rewarded on by His forgiveness, satifaction, accepting us in His Paradise, and saving us from the Hell Fire. It is your choice, as a man or as a woman:
Some sects say that you have to fast after some day after Ramadan instead of the day that you broke fasting. Some sects say that you have to fast for 61 days (60 for the punishment, 1 for the day that you broke fasting) after Ramadan.
I'm not quite sure what you mean, when one fasts, they fast for ONE day.
Usually, one would wake up before sunrise, have breakfast, and then not eat or drink anything for the entire day until sunset of the SAME DAY.
For example, I'll wake up before sunrise, around 5 AM, have a big breakfast on a Saturday morning. Then not eat/drink for the whole Saturday. Then, at say sunset is at 7 PM, at that time I'll break my fast by having a meal.
There is no connection between days. If I start fasting on Saturday, I end my fast on Saturday. I would fast again on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday etc. in the same manner.
I hope I answered your question.
Because it is "farz" (compulsory/ mandatory) for Muslims.
At the end of Ramadan Muslims break fast with a massive party and feast, sort of like Christmas.
Salam Brother or sister, here's three things that Muslims usually do during Ramadan Wich is August.
1. Read the Quran Or Listent to it (You earn good deeds while Reading).
2. Pray Muslims defentely prey during ramadan, (To ask for forgivness and pradise)
3. Fasting, Fasting is the main thing in Ramadan.
4. And the Day right After Ramadan finishes People pray until the morning light,
Because allah said in the Holy book of the Quran that you will go to A very special Paradise made for thos who fast and did the prayer after the night of Ramadan
you can drink or eat anything during the fast even your saliva.Saliva that normally it is prodeuced in mouth its normal that can be swallowed but not when its pouted outside the body.
You say Ramadan Kareem and your reply is Allah Akram. Or you simply say Ramadan Mubarak but after Ramadan has started.
A:
Several religious groups encourage periods of fasting, so there may be slightly different views on this depending on the faith. The most well known period of fasting is that observed by Muslims during the period of Ramadan. Islam allows exemptions from fasting, for example during illness or pregnancy.
Ultimately, whether or not a person observes the fast is a personal decision. If you are right, and he or she is obliged by Allah to observe the fast, then your friend will learn of this in the next life. We are all merely observers in this life, so there is no reason to say anything.
Around 1 month ranges from 29 days to 31 days it's based one the viewing of the crescent.
The ninth month of the Islamic calendar - called Ramadan (meaning "hot sands"). The month is not a fixed date in our reckoning: the Islamic year is shorter than the calendar year, so Ramadan will start and end on different Gregorian dates every year.
It brings people closer to God and closer among themselves. People are more motivated to give charities to the poor, hospitals, orphans, etc. People gets more control on their modes and keen to support and help others..
No, Muslims cannot drink during the allotted time one is fasting. There are some exceptions though, because if your making wudhu (ablutions) you have to wash your mouth out with water thrice. This is allowed. Also you may brush your teeth during the day, but try not to swallow the water!
Because this is an explicit command in the holy Quran, the Almighty Allah says:
( Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful )
Holy Quran,(2:185).
It's like Christmas for us. It's not our holiday to celebrate. We have our own New Year as we have a lunar calender, this means our New Year (and months) depend on the moon. So, our New Years aren't on the same day every year if you compare it to the Christian calender. In the Islamic calender they are on the same day.
Ramadan starts in sometime in August. It might be around the 11th in August. I hope that was helpful! :)
Yes, Muslims do fast. They fast for 30 days and the month in which they fast in called, Ramadan. The fast lasts from sunrise to sunset where a Muslim is not allowed to eat or drink. It is meant to teach a Muslim about self restraint and give them control over their lives and it also makes a Muslim thankful for what they have. Also, tend not to swear, curse, lie etc more so than usual. As Ramadan is near the end of the Muslim calender, Muslims believe it is a good way of preparing for the new year. Muslims also fast outside of Ramadan to lower sexual desire when the Muslim is unable to marry.
It means " may you have a generous , blessed Ramadan" , which is the month were Muslim people fast.
