What types of severe weather happens in El Paso Texas?
Well depending on your question I don't quite know what you mean I don't know if you mean what kind of storms we get here in El Paso,Texas or what storms we have gotten. But I'll give you an answer for both. We get strong wind storms starting in March lasting until about June. In 2006 we had a horrible rain storm come in at the beginning of August causing major flood damage around the city and overflowing the Rio Grande. And just previously in February 2011 we had a freeze that also caused major damage across the city of El Paso Texas, freezing pipes causing blackouts and causing the other cities within El Paso County to be left without water for 1 week or so. We are also able to get tornadoes. Which are rare.

How many years does it take to become a doctor?
It typically takes four years of under graduate school to obtain your bachelor's then an additional 4 years of medical school then several years of internships before you can use the title of M.D. On average it can take up to 12 years to reach this goal. Keep in mind that doctors all always required to do ongoing education so that their well of knowledge is current. They have to attend yearly classes, inservices, training and seminars. To be a hundred percent truthful even after you get your medical degree you never finish with school. It is always an ongoing process. I should know after all I am a doctor!!! Check with your state's medical board or local college to find out exactly how long it takes to become certified in your state, each state varies; but not by much. I have never heard of someone obtaining a medical degree in less than 10 years. Good Luck !!!!!
Where does the Texas Canyon get its name especially because its in Arizona?
While it is totally unconfirmed and I have not as yet been able to find any documentation... the story I have heard is that this canyon in southeast Arizona between the Dragoon and Little Dragoon mountains was oringally named after someone whose nickname was "Tex". Hence... it was called "Tex's Canyon". When the Butterfield Stage came through people would talk about "Tex's Canyon" and it gradually became known as "Texas Canyon". Again... totally unconfirmed... but I'm working on it. Researcher in Tucson
it defines a time for study of both geographic causes and historical effects on texas history.
Texas practiced slavery, and the US already had adequate problems maintaing a balance between the north and the south on that issue. Texas had made an effort to go it alone as a Republic, but it lacked recognition by most of the world and had created an enormous burden of debt. Texas needed a handout in a big way.
