Of course there are two movies in which Abba's music is central. Abba: The Movie (1977), one of the first films directed by Lasse Hallstrom, is based on the band's Australian tour that year. And Mamma Mia! (2008) is based on the stage play inspired by Abba's music.

Beyond that there are two important cult films in which Abba's music is important. Muriel's Wedding (1994) features five Abba tracks. (The lead character dreams that her life can be just as perfect as an Abba song.) And The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, about a couple of drag queens on a cross-Australia odyssey, features the song "Mamma Mia" as its finale. Both films are credited as helping to revive Abba's popularity in the 90s.

Abba songs have been featured in the soundtracks of several other films, notably "Does Your Mother Know" in Johnny English(2003); "Take a Chance on Me" in Get Smart (2008) and "Dancing Queen" in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007).

Björn has a sister I think but Idk about the others. In 1977, the German teen magazine Bravo published a poster and a complete biography with details of Frida's background, including the names of her father and mother. It was seen by Frida's German half-brother, who went to his father Alfred Haase and asked him if he had been in Ballangen during the war. A few months later, Frida met Haase in Stockholm for the first time.

i think Abba sold more albums then Led Zeppelin. Abba sold 360 million albums to Led Zeppelin's 300 million. I think only Elvis, the Beatles sold more than ABBA. That's amazing considering how despised they were in the 80s in the U.S. but ABBA continues to sell like three million albums a year even now after they have been disbanded for more than 30 years

As a group, Abba started working together in 1970 but did not release their first recordings until 1972. (They didn't adopt the name "Abba" until 1973). Their last public performance together was in December, 1982.)

Gold is 13x Platinum in the UK (about 4.6 million sold). It is the third biggest selling album in British history, has been in the top 100 for almost 500 weeks and hit number one on at least five different occasions, the last time in 2008. It shares the title of longest charting album in UK Chart history (with Queen's Greatest Hits).

The ABBA members are still very active, with regards to the music scene and what they enjoy doing; A - Agnetha, the first "A" in ABBA, lives on her own island called Ekerö, she released an album in 2004 called "My Colouring Book", her love for music is still very strong, although she likes her privacy very much and likes to be alone with her family. B - Björn, Björn is still heavily involved with the music industry, writing music and working on many stage musicals with partner Benny Andersson, the other "B" in ABBA. B - Benny, Much like Björn, Benny is involved in writing music and working on stage musicals. Benny also have his own band called Benny Anderssons Orkester, playing Swedish folkmusic. They have ended up on the chart in the UK last I heard with a song called "You are my man". In Sweden it broke the record for staying on the Swedish chart the longest.He also owns Hotel Rival in Stockholm since 2003. He saved it from being torned down.

A - Anni-Frid (a.k.a. Frida), owns many orphanages and hospices and likes to do work helping the environment, still is very passionate about music and is rumored to be working on a new album, was recently revealed to be the richest member in ABBA, with money and property grossing over £600 Million - double the other members of ABBA, who all have around £300 Million. The Swedish band ABBA was formed by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson who wrote the majority of the music for the group. They then added the female vocals of Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, who later married Bjorn and Benny.

The former Abba vocalist Frida Lyngstad married German architect Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss of Plauen in 1992. (It was her third marriage. She divorced her first husband, musician Ragnar Fredricksson, in 1970, and was with Abba keyboardist Benny Andersson from 1972 to 1981.) Prince Reuss died in 1999 after a lengthy battle with cancer and Frida, now officially the Countess of Plauen, Princess Anni-Frid Synni Reuss, lives alone in Zermatt, Switzerland.

If you're talking about actual royalty, Abba mezzo soprano Frida Lyngstad is, in fact, a legally titled princess. Officially she is now Princess Anni-Frid Synni Reuss of Plauen after her marriage into German aristocracy in 1992. The band also performed for royalty, performing Dancing Queen at the 1976 royal gala in Stockholm the night before the marriage of King Carl XVI Gustaf.

If you're speaking figuratively, perhaps a Swede would be better able to answer. But I believe it's true to say that Abba was never as popular at home as they were abroad. For example, the band had at least 21 number one hits somewhere on Earth between 1972 and 1983 but only two number ones in Sweden.

Abba biographer Carl Magnus Palm wrote about the resentment of some in the Swedish arts establishment that a pop band could be so successful. However this attitude was certainly not shared by all and in later years there seems to have been a much greater appreciation for the band's accomplishments. It hasn't hurt that Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus have continued to contribute greatly to Swedish culture as composers and producers. Their epic Swedish opera, Kristina Fran Dulemala, is a national treasure, and Andersson's currrent band, Benny Anderssons Orkester, has done much to popularize traditional Swedish music. So if not royalty, exactly, I believe they have achieved a high level of respect in Sweden.

Actually, the four members of the band were married. Agnetha and Bjorn were married on July 6, 1971. Benny and Anni-Frid were married in October 1978. Unfortunately both couples later divorced.

The four principal members are still alive and kicking but drummer Ola Brunkert died at his home in Spain in 2008 after falling through a plate glass window. Manager and sometime lyricist Stig Anderson died in 1997.

ABBA disbanded because the couples (Anni-Frid and Benny, and Agnetha and Bjorn) were having marriage problems and it would be difficult to sing about love together.
