In relatively new locks, you should be able to comb them out by starting at the tip and slowly combing out the knots. In more mature locks you can soak your head in conditioners or olive oil then comb out slowly.

The kind of weave used to make kinky twists is called Marley Braids. It comes in a variety of colors, and comes in the form of locks of hair that can be separated and twisted in with one's own hair. Also, afro hair can be purchased in bulk and used for kinky twists as well. It is not found in places like Sally Beauty Supply most often, but in neighborhood beauty supply stores. The Marley braid hair comes in three lengths, Short, medium and long.

Personaly I think Hairgel holds better, however it leaves a shiny greasy effect on your hair which hairspray dosen't.

You should only wash your hair as often as needed to keep it healthy and moisturized. Washing is usually not what causes hair breakage with African American hair. What causes hair breakage is rough handling after washing (like ripping a comb though your hair instead of combing it gently), using products that dry out the hair, chemical treatments, tight braids, extensions, weaves, wigs, and the excessive use of heat.

In order to get knots and matted hair combed out with less pain, you will need a lot of patience. So, to begin, wet the hair or area of the head where you are working with as hot water as possible. Then saturate the area with conditioner and slowly take a comb with a pointed end and start working from the ends up to the roots. This will take some time but it will be painless if you are patient. Some people have used a little olive oil after applying the conditioner. I pray this was helpful.

The best product for growing black hair is the one year growth process. how do you do it? You co-wash your hair, then split your hair in 4 equal parts add some extra virgin coconut oil & rake through with a pick or rattail comb. Then braid each peice & you have now started the growth process. That is a detangle treatment that you do twice a week, & once you began comfortable with it, you may switch to 1 a week. Any kinky twist hair that says Marley hair should work just fine....that includes jamaica braid, Ya man, freetress, ect. However there is a marley braid brand that some prefer...HTH (hope this helps) :)
