Originally Sheridan, Benjamin and Crosman were 3 separate companies. Benjamin bought-out Sheridan. A few years later Crosman bought-out Benjamin. Today Crosman owns all 3 companies. In 1975 Crosman started serial numbering Benjamin / Sheridan air rifles. Before that (1975) it is not easy to identify the year the Benjamin or Sheridan's were made.

A head shot with hollow point pellets would be best.

Yes but it may take multiple shots and the rabbit will suffer. A bb gun is a poor choice for killing rodents. A pellet gun using hollow point pellets is a much better choice.

When you ask for the value of this airgun, you need to give me more information than "How much is it worth?" Let me explain. If I asked you "How much is my 56 T-bird worth?" The first thing you might ask is, "What condition is it in?" It could be a real gem or just a bucket of rust. It's the same with any antique. The current condition determines the value.

You need to give a description of the airgun, give it some sort of rating like, it's in (Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent) shape. Or tell me that is looks well used or has very little wear. Something that gives me an idea of where to start. Without more information it is not possible to give you an estimate of value.

I have very little information on the pistol. However I see that it is a Target or Match pistol. This tells me that it most likely only fires around 500 FPS like most match pistols. These pistols are not known for speed but are known for accuracy. That's why they are considered Match/Target pistols. As an example the NEW FAS 609 only has a velocity of 500 FPS but is dead accurate.

This is a very interesting rifle. Notice I did not say air rifle. When Daisy developed this rifle it was for the air rifle market. It used a propellant mass as a charge. it was about to go into mass production when Senator Kennedy was shot, because of the backlash from the public Daisy stopped production after making 25,000 models, The model years were 1968-1969. (Daisy dropped the project all together.) There were three versions of the rifle. The standard version was the VL and 19,000 VL's were made.

It used a 29 grain bullet and fired at 1150 FPS. Very fast for that era. It is considered in it's own class as a firearm and an air gun. cartridges are no longer made for this rifle. (Caseless air-ignited cartridge)

In good condition it is worth around $145

BATFE ruled that this gun is a FIREARM. Daisy is not licensed to make firearms.

In Excellent condition it would be worth $90 to $105. It was made between 1969 and 1993

Both Sears and Crosman made air guns for Sears under the Sears JG Higgins brand name. Any air gun made for Sears by Daisy started with "799." any air gun made by Crosman for Sears started with "126." as the model number. The following 5 numbers identified the exact model of the original manufacture. Unfortunately most of those crossover records have been lost over the years. Your air gun was made by Daisy. This I am sure of.

I found a photo on the web of Daisy model 799.19031 and was able to identify it as a Daisy model 25. There are 58 different versions of this mode starting in 1914 up to today. I think yours is a variation made between 1952-1955.

BTW your air rifle was made between 1927-1939

If the number is T131774 then it was made in 1972.

Daisy never made a model 120 pellet gun. Are you sure you don't mean a 120 Pellet rifle?

If this is what you are asking about then restate your question with additional information, such as the current condition of the rifle. If any model Air Rifle can come close to that speed it would be a PCP (Pre Charged Pneumatic) Class air rifle. PCP's are the most powerful class of air rifles. They require a scuba tank or a special type of hand pump to charge them to 2000 to 3000 PSI. These rifles are made for power and accuracy and cost from $300 to $3000 depending on features and boar size. They are made from .177 up to 50 Cal in size.

The fastest PCP that I know of is the is the Air Force Condor. It rated at 1450 FPS firing a .177 caliber pellet. However this rifle has 12 interchangeable barrels that fit the rifle. The basic cost is around $675 and about $1,575 fully outfitted.

Without more information about the condition of the pistol it is not possible to answer you. BUT I can tell you this. In poor condition it is worth $50 in "NEW IN BOX" condition it is worth $250.
