There are several available. The most common are and readily available are made by Gamo and Crosman. But there are over 100 different manufactures. Most are available on the web. Any air rifle that fires above 800 FPS ( feet Per Second) will be sufficient. BUT: here are a few things to remember. Stay away BB guns and rifles or any combination of BB and pellet rifles. They are just not accurate. I suggest a spring powered rifle ( Break Barrel). These will be the most powerful. C02 rifles are fun but are not as powerful as a Springer. Pump rifles are good but you have to pump them 10 times to take a shot. The downside to a springer is you have to cock it every time you take a shot. But it is more effective for taking out varmints. Use hunting pellets, They Mushroom when they hit the target and will make a clean kill. If you can afford it select a .22 caliber air rifle over a .177 caliber rifle. It will have more knock down power than a .177.

it really is a bad idea to eat your air rifle.perhaps you mean"where may i shoot a squirrel with my air rifle,and then eat the squirrel?" in which case ,a good idea would be to look for roadkill squirrels,then you would know there were squirrels in the area.i know they are regarded as a pest,but it is still bad to shoot a female with nursing young.give it some thought.........

If you are talking about a .177 caliber pellet. Most likely the answer is NO. But if you are talking about a 45 caliber or 50 caliber pellet then the answer is Yes. Pellet guns come in .177, .20, .22, .25, 9MM, 45 cal and 50 Caliber. The last 3 sizes are fired by PCP air rifles (Recharged pneumatic ) that require a scuba tank to charge them to 3000 PSI. They are still pellet rifles just the BIG BOY of pellet rifles.

i am just about to get one and i personally have a buddie of mine that has a big cat 1200. he said he has a great time using it and didnt take him but 15 minutes to sight in the scope at 30 yards. plus i have been reaserching out on the web and reading comments and feedback. all the websights ive gone to had a good report and is a great gun. so i would get one.

The Gamo PT-85 is designed to shoot Pellets not BB's. Here's why. The barrel in the PT-85 is rifled meaning it has grooved down the barrel that make the pellet spin as it leaved the barrel. Pellets have a soft skirt that catches the C02 blast. This skirt conforms to the grooves as it travels down the barrel. This spinning makes the pellet very accurate as it travels to the target.

BB's are usually fired from a smoothed bore barrel, much like a straw, BB tumble as they leave the barrel and can wander off target easily. When a BB is forced into a Pellet rifled barrel. It doesn't conform to the grooves, what it does is scrape the grooves off a little at a time. Each shot damages the barrel a little more making the rifle barrel worthless for pellets.

Forcing BB to be fired down a pellet barrel will ruin a very good rifle in a very short time. It will no longer be as accurate as it once was.

It's very hard to change the power of the rifle without changing the components in the rifle. However it is possible to change the how the rifle reacts when firing the pellet.

Now don't confuse speed with power, they are two different things. You can change the speed of the pellet by simply adding a few drops of Crosman pellgun oil into your pellet tin and rolling the pellets around in the oil (Don't over oil) this will lubricate the pellets and the barrel. They will go faster but will still have about the same power.

Pellets come in different weights. A lightweight pellet will fly faster but will also drift off target easier due to cross wind. A heavy weighted pellet will fly slower, BUT will fly straighter and have more knock down power. Think of it this way. Your on a motorcycle and a fly hits you in the face, It hurts, but if a bumble bee hits you I the face it REALLY hurts.

Pellet shape makes a big difference. I suggest hollow point pellets for hunting, they mushroom on impact and make a cleaner kill.

Pellets are weighed by GRAIN. .177 come in 4.8 Grain up to 9.8 Grain. Believe me this makes a big difference in power.

The Crosman 130 was made from 1955 to 1970. It is no longer on the market. The condition and demand determine the price you will pay. Anything Goes.

The Model 122 is a .22 caliber pellet pistol, not a BB or .177 caliber pistol. Pump up the pistol, Not more than 10 pumps.

Open the breech by turning the knob at the rear. Pull it all the way back. Load the .22 pellet in the breech. The skirt faces the rear. Close the breech. Rotate the knob to lock it in place. Aim, release the safety and fire.

I know I'll regret answering this question because there is so much confusion regarding this rifle.

Let me explain. At one time Sheridan, Benjamin and Crosman were 3 different companies. In 1977 Benjamin air gun company bought-out Sheridan and continued the Sheridan line. In 1992 Crosman air gun company bought-out Benjamin and kept both Benjamin and Sheridan lines going. Up until this time the serial numbering system was very poor for Sheridan. There is even confusion around the C, C9, C9A & C9PB as to when they were produced. Most Sheridan models were just marked "Sheridan" From 1949 to 1990 In 1972 serial numbering began with. #000000. As you can see yours had too many numbers to date it.

I Think yours was made sometime after 1990.

Model 98 was made in 1974

Model 98 Daisy Eagle made between 1955 -1960 ( Your model)
