How do you land a A300 Airbus?

Landing a big airliner is hard for someone who isn't a professional pilot. On a non-ILS approach you should set flaps to 3, maintain speed at 160 knots and decent smoothly to the runway. The hard part is to align with the runway. Try to aim for the lines at the center. When you are about to land lower the gears and set the throttles to "IDLE". When you are over the runway put back on the yoke to pitch the nose up and make the base gears touch down first. You want to perform a "stall" over the runway at a vertical speed less than -250 feet/minute. When the base gears are on the ground put the throttles at reverse mode by getting the levers all the way back. Try to brake smoothly by pressing down at the pedals. Your aim is to keep the airplane at the center line of the runway. When the airplane comes to a complete stop, set barking brakes and switch off the engines (the switch is under the throttle). The information above should be used ONLY when on emergency! In that case before doing anything, you should get the on the microphone and while holding down the talk button, you must say: "Mayday mayday mayday. Flight XXX is declaring emergency. Request immediate landing with IFR rules and visual approach. Full emergency crew required." Then you should set the "squawk" at 7700. To do that search for a 4 digit display near the radio panel.

Why was the a380 made?

The Airbus A 380 was made by airbus to compete with the Boeing 747

How much does an Airbus 330-300 weigh?

An Airbus A330-300 has a maximum take off weight of 235 tons or 235,000 kg (520,000 lb)

Why do planes not have a row G?

They do.

I just checked a British Airways seating plan for their 3-class 747's and they are ABC DEFG HJK. They don't use 'I' because it could be confused for the digit '1'.

What is a thin trail of smoke called?

The stream behind a jet is called a contrail. It is actually water vapor that condenses in the cold.

Is there such thing as a 787?

Yes there is but it is currently not in passenger service as it is still in the phase of getting it's FAA certificate

What is the difference between a 200tdi and a 300tdi engine?

300s are a little more refined, a little more HP, slightly more tuneable. Later 300s have electronictrickery, most don't.

Both are very reliable strong engines and can be DIY maintained with ease. Also have the same MPG too.

I have a 200 and love it for its simplicity, it is on 136k miles and still going strong.

The key is to service them regularly, but that's the same for any engine!

What do you call a large passenger plane?

What plane can hover?

Well there were many trial to make an aeroplane which can hover. Although some aeroplanes can hover for short durations but unfortunately we are still unable to make an aeroplane hover with much efficiency. the examples of few hovering capable aeroplanes are Lockheed Martin F-35 and V-22.

However, by far the most well known and successful is the British Harrier Jump Jet. It went into service in 1966 although the Hawker P1127 was a predecessor that flew in 1960. The Harrier uses thrust vectoring to allow vertical take off and landing as well as hovering at any speed and can even move backwards.

What airline flew the first Airbus?

Air France was the launch customer for the first Airbus aircraft (Airbus A300), introduced into service on 30 May 1974

What year did the Concorde begin its regular services?

It was first flown in 1969, and began regular commercial service on the 21st January 1976.

Why doesn't a jet engine melt?

Good question! Believe it or not the temperatures inside a jet engine do get hot enough in some parts to actually "soften" the interior components. However, engineers have come up with a clever way to keep parts cool. Many of the components including turbine blades have many tiny hols in them which cool air is directed into the part and out of the hols creating a blanket of cooler air which protects the parts from the higher temperatures flowing around it. Even though these parts are still hot enough to glow red, they are still kept just cool enough to withstand the great forces acting on them.

What is the NACA airfoil no for airbus A320?

Modern airplanes have swept wings and so the NACA airfoil system is hard to apply since it it is constantly changing throughout the wing. Even if it was still in use, or another system is in use, the fact is that most companies keep these values extremely confidential since the wing is the most important part of a plane and they dont want other companies copying their airplanes.

Where was the Airbus A380 first produced?

The airbus A380 was produced from pieces over Western Europe. The wings and cockpit was made in England, the engines were made in Germany along with the main body. I believe everything was put together in Germany. Other European countries contributed in ways of money or small pieces like part of the tail wing, wheels etc.

Why planes doesnt takeoff at 12PM and why?

Noise regulations in many areas prevent aircraft taking off after midnight.
