Amish people are fundamentalist Mennonites, or Anabaptists.
In Lancaster County, Pa, there are many people of German or Dutch descent, called Pennsylvania Dutch. However, being Pennsylvania Dutch does NOT automatically make you Amish. The Amish may be of similar descent, but these terms are NOT mutually inclusive. The Amish are a religious group that make certain lifestyle choices, not a nationality.
As a result of the Holy Roman Empire, which engulfed Europe from the North Sea to the Mediterranean, Holland and Lorraine to Poland and Moravia, a large portion of "Germans," may actually be classified now with a more specific regional moniker. The Amish, founded by Jacob Amman in the latter 1600s, began emigration in the early 1800s as a result of religious persecution. Many "Dutch" emigrants came to America in the early 1800s, when the Holy Roman Empire still held a large amount of territory. It is accurate to call all of these people descendants of Germany, or Deutsch/ Dutch, since at the time, the place their ancestors lived was Germany, or Deutschland, but certainly not precise by modern geographical standards. Only a small percentage of these people are Amish, others may be Jews, Catholics, Quakers, Calvanists, etc.

Answer:
If an Amish person wishes to remain in the Amish community they must marry in the Amish Church. Both spouses must already be members of the Amish church in order to be married by the church. Many individuals do not join the church until they have decided to marry, at which time they will both go through instruction class and baptism into the Amish church. After this they will marry in the church.
It should be noted that most Amish do not have a church building, but rather have services in different homes. They may have an enclosed wagon to haul folding chairs to the site of the worship service. There are, however, groups referred to by others as "church Amish" which have a building.

Why do Amish men wear suspenders and not belts?
First off the Amish aren't the only ones that wear suspenders. Many businessmen, especially ones of the larger variety, much prefer suspenders or "braces" to wearing a belt. Notably for two reasons one: belts don't hold your pants up and are mostly for decoration whereas braces once they are set at the desired length will keep your pants right where you want them, and two: due to the aforementioned reason when wearing slacks with braces you can leave a little extra room around the waist which will make your pants much more comfortable. Just be sure that you don't wear both braces and belts at the same time, unless you want everyone to think you're from Texas.

Do Amish pull out all their teeth?
Because their god (Frankleheifer IV) instructs them in their holy book that in order to be perceived as virgins and allowed into heaven they must present their teeth as an offering. Their teeth are then removed and placed into extravagant hand made wooded carvings of their favorite non-amish television personalities. This is extremely difficult because they don't own televisions, and must sneak away in the evenings to local businesses to choose their celebrity. This all happens during their 17th year, and if they choose a celebrity that isn't accepted by the amish council they must remain amish for 4 additional years. After the 4 year waiting period, they may remove additional teeth and begin the statue carving process again. Hope this helps!

The Ammish may claim not to "hate" black people but that does not mean they ALLOW them to intermingle with them or their families or their gatherings and that also includes interracial unions being formed between those who black and those who are Ammish (white)
Those who say the Ammish do not hate black people are only giving half a story. Hate does not have to be open or publicly done but it can be silently and privately practiced.
1. Several say the Ammish do not hate black people because they do not judge according to Matthew 7: 1. Certainly they do not judge with words but their lack of associations with those who are black as well as lack of interracial unions and lack of mixtures in their communities do show that some form of judging had to have taken place in order to keep their communities the way that it is presently is.
2. Several misquote scrptures such as Genesis 6:9, Genesis 24:2-4, and Lev. 21:14 stating that God wants all to stick to their own race. A ridiculous and absurd misquotation of scripture. God is NOT against interracial union in fact. He grafted in those who belong to the Gentile racial heritages (called the wild olive tree in the Bible) be they black, Asian or Hispanic into the Jewish racial heritage who are called the olive tree in the bible. God also does NOT see interracial unions as wrong because in Christ ALL are ONE and are ALL His Children (Romans 11: 17 and Galatians 3: 26-29).
