LC stand for Lake City Arsenal. Located at Independence, MO this plant was originally operated by Remington Arms Co. and much later by Olin-Winchester. Lake city was one of the first wave ordnance plants and operated from 1941 to 1945. It was reopened in 1951 and has since operated continuously to the present time, now known as Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP). Lake City produced caliber 30, caliber 30 carbine, caliber 50, caliber 50 spotter-tracer, 7.62mm and 5.56mm ammunition in very large quantities. Also produced but in smaller quantities were caliber 38 revolver, 7.62 X 39mm, 20mm and 30mm ammunition. In 1985 the plant operations contract was reassigned to Olin-Winchester and in 1999 it was again reassigned to Alliant Techsystems (ATK).
the 54 is the year manufactured.
What type of ammunition is best for home defense?
Shotgun rounds. They have low penetration, high power, and you can't miss that easily; in addition, if you miss they won't do any major damage or harm to property or innocent bystanders.
How much powder is in a 50 caliber bullet?
There is no powder in the bullet at all.
A bullet is just the projectile, typically made from lead and copper. Powder is contained in the cartridge casing.
The actual amount depends on the powder used, but on average a .50 BMG cartridge would contain about 220 grains of powder. This is equal to 14.5 grams or 7.76 ounces.

How far will .45 caliber bullet travel?
In excess of 2 miles.
**********************************************************
The previous answer of 2 miles is a bit of crazy talk. If a .45 ACP handgun
is fired parallel to the ground it will hit the dirt 360 feet down range.
(Source: http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/mythbusters-dropped-vs-fired-bullet.html )
Now unless you are talking about unsafe practices just to set some kind of
a distance record such as firing high into the air on a mountain ridge with a 50
mph tail wind with hot loaded ammo, who knows, but I highly doubt it could reach
10,560 feet.............or 2 miles.
****************************************************************
The previous answer is correct- IF the .45 ACP is fired parallel to the ground- which rarely happens. The muzzle is elevated to raise the strike of the bullet. IF the muzzle is raised to a GREAT degree- around 45 degrees, the bullet will travel much further than 360 ft. About 2 miles. Not accurately, and at the end of flight does not have energy to penetrate a target.

I report, you decide.
Would a bullet in your temple kill you?
In general, yes, it probably will, but on the off chance that it doesn't penetrate, it may not.
Well, for one thing, the prices flip-flopped since I was a kid. We used to buy 22 shorts for half the price of 22 LR. Today only a couple of companies still load shorts and when you can find them they cost more than the long rifle. And the intermediate length, 22 long, has just disappeared.
What is the most accurate shotgun and ammo combination?
Each weapon will exhibit a preference for one or more loads. The only way to know is to shoot as many different types as you can.
Why is ammunition so hard to find?
Since Obama was elected we are just waiting for a giant gun and ammunition ban, so everybody is buying it all up.
The scratch marks left on the proyectile by the rifling lines of the inside of the bore (barrel).
How much bullets does a 22 riffle hold?
Depends on the rifle. Among my .22s, some hold ONE shot. Several hold 7 shots in a box magazine. Rifles fed from a tube magazine may hold 15 long rifle cartriges, or 26 Short cartridges. TheAmerican 180, a ,22 LR submachinegun, held 177 cartridges. No, not a typo- 177. .
Is there a difference between revolver ammo and automatic ammo?
yes................revolver ammo has a rim. Semi-auto cartridges do not.
A supersonic bullet is a bullet that is faster than the speed of sound.
What happens when an ammo clip is hit by bullet?
The term you are looking for is probably an ammunition magazine. If a loaded magazine struck by a bullet, it usually get bent, or has a hole knocked in it. If a bullet hits a loaded cartridge IN the magazine, it will usually dent the cartridge, or tear it open. ONLY if the bullet were to strike the primer directly would there be a BANG- and that would be the bullet popping out of it's cartridge case. However, the bullet would have little power, and only travel a few feet- it is not confined in a barrel. Not quite what they show in the movies- sorry,
Can you use a real 12 gauge shotgun shell in a 12 gauge flare launcher?
Only once.
Flare guns are not firearms. They are usually made from weak materials and have thin barrels specifically to prevent such use. They cannot withstand the pressure of a standard shotgun shell. The flare launcher will likely explode. Even if it does not, the recoil from a full power load in such a light launcher is likely to cause injury.
Either way, you would be risking serious bodily harm to try it. Depending on local laws, firing real ammunition from a flare gun may also be a crime.
What caliber of gun will use Ammunition with head stamp rg 50?
POSSIBLY- and this is a stab in the dark- 7.62 NATO- similar to the civilian .308 Winchester. RG is a headstamo used by the Radway Green ammunition plant in Britain. In 1950, the standard rifle used the 7.62 NATO cartridge. Again, just a guess.
