How far does a pistol bullet go?
300 yards A pistol bullet can travel much further than 300 yards. On average, a pistol bullet can travel about a mile.
It depends on the gun. A single shot (pistol, rifle, or shotgun) holds only one at a time. A double barrel naturally holds two. Revolvers commonly hold 6, but some could have as few as 4 and I have seen as many as 12. The Thompson submachine gun with a drum magazine holds 100 rounds. Belt-fed machine guns really only hold one bullet at a time, but the total capacity is unlimited as long as you have someone connecting fresh belts as each one reaches its end.
Mossberg 183KE 410 rifle what ammo does it take?
Mossberg 183 410 is not a rifle it's a bolt action 410 ga shotgun. It takes 410 ga shotgun shells. Very true, some mossberg 183's also have a choke on them. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU DO NOT SHOOT THIS GUN WITHOUT THE CHOKE... if it didnt come with a choke then no worries... anyway im sure you know this as anyone does but i thought id throw that in there. and to improve on the answer, the 183 is designed to chamber a 2 3/4 inch or a 3 inch shell. whatever you want to shoot just pick your poison. it will shoot buckshot birdshot and rifled slugs. They are great old guns, and probably one of the more rare guns that i have come across. lucky for me my father in law had one in mint condition that he claims to have fired once since he was young. at any rate keep ahold of that gun, if its in good condition its worth money. and as another correction for the individual answering this in the first place, .410 is not a gague, it is the bore size. but it is a shotgun nonetheless, not a rifle.
Will a Remington 30 pumpaction centerfire rifle shoot 30-30 or 30-06 ammo?
The manufacturer put the gun's caliber on the barrel for a reason. If the ammo box dosent say exactly that, it could be because its made by a company other than the oem stuff, or just wrong. Dont blandly accept the word of the clerk who happens to be at the ammo ciunter; dont be afraid/ embarassed to get the gunsmith, or several other clerks to help you clarify your understandable confusion. Some ammo IS interchangeable, differring in name only by rifling twist. There IS NO interchangeability between 30 remington, and ANYTHING ELSE. You're welcome, goodluck, and goodday

* bullets will never do what you want them to- ergo- stand in front of it and yell "Hit me! * You need to close your eyes and start slowing down the time, so you can hear your heart beats and all the sounds are stretched. Then all the bullets will appear to be gliding slowly and you will be able to easily dodge them. == == * You can only dodge bullets in the movies. The best course of action is to avoid getting shot in the first place. == == * Study TaeKwonDo Because It Has a lot Of Moves To Disarm Your Opponent And It Gives You Power And Speed , Or Just Say The Following which Succeeds every time : "What Ever He Paid You , I'll Double It" LOL * If you could manage to infuse your DNA with electricity you could probably travel at super speed == == * You would need to be very lucky or the bullet would have to be really slow. == == * You can indirectly dodge the bullet if the shooter is not so good in targeting. (Perhaps you will have no need to move even) * Take off your clothes and transform into superman. * Make a freakishly loud noise when the shooter aims at you, and promptly run away. Or, you could turn into a pile of goo... [G.O.D] == == * Don't stand next to a guy who wants to shoot you. == == * You cannot dodge a fired bullet but you can dodge the shooters aim before he pulls the trigger. Consider, if you can see down the barrel of the gun then the bullet will come directly at your head. If move so you can see some other 'side' of the gun then the bullet will no longer be coming directly at you. So if some one is trying to home in on you keep moving. == == * Za Warudo * Since distance, size of the bullet, sound and air condition all come into play here, all have to be taken into consideration. The average size bullet will travel at around 896-1000 m/s, while sound travels at an average of 343 m/s (Meters per second). So you will not hear the sound of the gun being fired until after the bullet has hit you, that is if you are a fair distance away. As one answer was given, that a bullet begins to slow down as soon as it leaves the gun, it is my suggestion that you get far enough away that the bullet drops at your feet having lost all of its momentum. As a point of interest the Lone Rangers silver bullets only give him an advantage of about a quarter of a second. * star in a movie such as the Matrix and you may be able to do that. But i like the idea of just staying away from people with guns. probably the safest way to do it. * Practice Baby, practice. * The expression "to dodge a bullet" is often used when someone has had an amazing escape from death. So someone with a heart attack who got to the hospital quickly and was treated well is said to have "dodged a bullet". * Why bother? Just shove your enemy in the way. Assuming s/he isn't the one trying to shoot you...Just make sure the bullet isn't travelling fast enough to go through them *and* hit you. if youre good at it
Can you fire 357 ammo in a gun calibrated for 38 special?
As a general rule... NO!
It is possible to fire .38 ammo from a .357 firearm, as the .357 is far more powerful, and the firearm is designed to withstand greater pressures. The usual .38 is not designed to deal with the pressures generated by .357 ammo.
Always read the manufacturer specifications before experimenting with ammo. if you don't have access to the specs, take it to a reliable gunsmith. It's not worth losing eyes/hands/arms/lives over.
How does a spotter round of ammunition work?
It either has tracer compound in the rear of the projectile or a small explosive charge in the front of the projectile. This makes the impact of the bullet more visible at a distance.
An average hand gun would be about... 141 MPH. It depends on what gun you use. A sniper is way faster.
it depends on the firearm it came from. pistol bullets reach about 950 miles per hour (1,530 km/h). but sniper riffle bullets go two to three times as fast, and can travel up to 1,800 yards without descending.
How does a bullet primer work?
A catridge primer is one of four components of a centerfire cartridge. The other components are the case, powder charge, and bullet. In reference to centerfire catridges, the primer is located in the center of the headstamp, and is the first "combustible" component in the firing series. Typically, the primer contains approximately 1 grain of propellent designed to "spark" when struck by the firing pin. The "spark" then travels down the flash hole of the catridge igniting the powder charge inside. As the powder charge burns, gasses build up and force the bullet to separate from the case, traveling down the barrel and ultimately out of the muzzle. Caution should be taken when handling or storing primers, as they are designed to ignite on impact, but can be activated by heat as well. Rimfire primers are a combustible material that are laid in the bottom of the case near the rim. The best explanation would be that the primer is on the opposing side of the headstamp, around the rim. They act in a similar manner and firing sequence of centerfire cartridges, except that they are activated by a striker surface hitting anywhere on the "rim" of the case. The striker typically strikes the rim at an angle causing a visible dent on the rim, hence rim fire. Shotgun shells work the same as centerfire cartridges, however their components are slightly different. They contain the primer, hull, powder charge, wad, and shot (or slug).
What is the difference between caliber and millimeter in ammunition?
They're both measurements of the diameter of the round (or the barrel). Caliber is a measurement in inches, and millimeters are millimeters. For instance, a .30 caliber bullet is 30 hundredths of an inch, or 7.62 millimeters in diameter.
