Because Andrew-Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice worked together through various Musicals. The wrote and composed some of the biggest Musicals in London Like Oliver and Joseph and the Amazing Colour Dreamcoat. They made the word musical very different.

As far as I know there has never been anyone else that has recorded this song. I have a DVD and Kiri is singing this song. It is the most beautiful love song that I have heard in a very long time. I don't think that anyone else can sing it the way that Kiri does. In my mind and heart it will always be her song.
The above answer is correct. However the song was reworked and appeared in the show 'The Beautiful Game' as a song called Our Kind Of Love, which was the single from the show (by Hannah Washington).
The show was reworked as The Boy In The Photograph, but Our Kind Of Love was removed. Possibly as the Heart Is Slow To Learn will be included in The Phantom 2 Love Never Dies

Andrew Lloyd Webber did not "write or rather compose" Pie Jesu. It is a very old motet or piece of music which part of a larger piece. He did an ARRANGEMENT of it as part of Agnus Dei. Gustave's real father is the Phantom. On the night before her wedding to Raoul, Christine found the Phantom, unsure of who she should be with. She had one night of passion with the Phantom which resulted in Gustave. Christine was willing to be with the Phantom, forgetting Raoul but he knew that she had to marry him and left her early the next morning. Christine married Raoul and they raised Gustave as theirs.
