His work is closest to that of Pablo Picasso.
Another opinion:
I do not think many people would agree with the opinion above. There is no similarity at all between the works of Duchamp and Picasso.
The starting point of Duchamp's works is to find in the Dada movement.
Another opinion 2:
Duchamp, whilst being one of the main faces of the Dada art movement, was inspired by a few artists when he started off. In his earlier works on canvas, he was inspired by the work of cezanne, matisse and movements such as cubism, symbolism, abstractionism and some post-impressionism.

Andy Warhol wanted to show the growth of consumerism and commericalism during the late Twentith Century. He would reproduce images on silk screens with different colors and sell them to the degeneralized public for high prices. In reference to Marilyn, she was one of the most iconic women of the 1950s and 1960s, so much so that many actresses in Hollywood at the time tried to immulate her, and she became the central idea of beauty. So Warhol took this massly believed conception and created many prints of the starlet, including the famed turquoise "Marilyn".
Andy Warhol's high school, Schenley High School, closed its doors permanently on June 30, 2008. On June 25th, the school's board voted 5-4 to close the Pittsburgh school, rejecting a proposal to let voters decide in a referendum. In addition to Andy Warhol, jazz musician George Benson also attended the school.

Only Andy Warhol can answear that! But as a see that he was mainly attracted to the beautiful, the troubled and children basically anyone in these three categories.
If Andy Warhol lived, in my opinion, he would paint
beautiful models such as Ann Ward (beautiful, "odd/unique" beauty from Americas Next Stop Model)
People and their "insides" -I think by now Andy would expand his scenery and start painting people with illnesses, as an attempt to raise awareness and stop/ decrease the social stigma of eating disorders, schizophrenia, depression
Religious art- Popes, Priest that have done wrong- I do not now if it is widely known but one book that I was reading for a presentation stated Andy was very religious, he attented church weekly. This was not associted with his public persona. I think Mr. Warhol would have fun dwelling on the corruption and disillution one must experience when the law hurts man. During his later years he did various reproductions of "The Last Supper".
because coca-cola was a big thing when it started being sold in a bottle. He also painted a can of tomato soup for the same reason. It was a very important part of history to be able to buy canned foods.
Too many!!
When I was reading his diary it talked about all his friends and there was way to many to count or name. He was vary sociable !!!
Some include: Jim Randall, Barbara Walter, Andrew Wyeth, and GLen Campbell, and a ton more including a lot of starz !!!
He influenced it by being the main founder in the revolution called, "Pop Art".

Abstract artists use patterns and lines in their art.
i would say Bridget riley she uses atlot of patterns in her work and she uses lines aswell.
Andy Warhol (officially named Andrew Warhola), was an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker.
It doesnt have a meaning... it's a banana, Pop art was meant to shock and dismiss watercolours, with it's bright bold colours. Pop artists painted anything and everything that had vibrant colours, often using advertising as inspiration for their art. There wasnt particular reason for the banana, it isnt meant to represent anything other than a banana.
Andy Warhol (Born Andrew Warhola) is famous because of his world known silkscreen artworks such as the Marilyn Diptych and the Campbell's soup can.
He is the father of pop art, creating it and said the famous quote "Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes" and "I want to be a machine".
He is also famous because of his movies like Sleep and Batman Dracula.
Well his artworks revolved around American Pop Culture, he was fascinated with it. He amired people who were famous. Warhol also had an appreciation for intense Hollywood glamour. He once said: "I love Los Angeles. I love Hollywood. They're so beautiful. Everything's plastic, but I love plastic. I want to be plastic."
