REAL ANSWER: There is no debate of whether humans came from apes or not because humans ARE apes. A lot of people such as the poster above me are afraid of this idea because it threatens their personal religious beliefs. If you do some research (that excludes reading a 2000 year old mythological book written by humans who claimed they spoke to god), you'll learn of the overwhelming evidence that supports our evolution (as well as the evolution of other apes) from the family, Hominidae.

People eat chimpanzees for the same reasons people eat cows. I know it's strange in western culture but chimpanzee's are animals, some cultures need to eat them to provide the nutrients they need in their diets.

No. Orangutans, instead of backbones, have a special thing called mongimandae. This causes their back to warp into strange positions allowing them free movement through the jungle, instead of having a normal backbone, which would force them to live on the ground like us measly human`s.
