How did Colorado become a state?

Colorado Became a State August 1, 1876
The 1846-1848 war between Mexico and the United States ended in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848). This treaty required Mexico to surrender huge portions of its land to the United States; southern Colorado was part of the cession. The United States was slow to organize this territory, and present-day Colorado was variously considered part of Texas and the territories of Utah, New Mexico, Nebraska, and Kansas. The impetus for the organization of the Colorado territory was the discovery of gold.

On 28 February 1861, the U.S. government organized the Territory of Colorado. (Colorado City and Golden served as the territory's capital, before Denver was declared the capital in 1867.)

Colorado became a state on 1 August 1876. Due to the expansion of the railroads across the plains and into the mountains, and the subsequent increase in economic linkages, the state's population quickly grew.

Symbolism and Symbolic Meanings

What was the history behind the Nazi sign?

AnswerThe swastika is an ancient symbol. But there is a difference between the different swastikas in history. The Native American and east Indians have had swastikas in their art, but the arms face left, and not right as in the Nazi swastika. The Nazi swastika, is pagan in nature (Germanic I believe) and is symbolic of the god THOR. It is said that the early Nazis "borrowed" the swastika from Finland. By the way, the Finns also used the swastika on their tanks and planes during WW-2. AnswerUm, my friend moved here when he was 12, from Germany, and he said that the swastika meant Family (in German) not the god Thor.. also my friends name is Thor, and his name means god of thunder, so that wouldn't really make any sense. AnswerActually what I had learned in school was that the swastika was once the ancient Romans' symbol for Christianity and the reason for this is cause the Roman who made the swastika chopped the original cross "†" in to 4 pieces and made the swastika out of that.

'Blue' on pool walls is usually associated with copper. The source could be a copper based substance you have been using in the water. Or maybe the water is sufficiently aggressive to be eating copper out of your heater. Low pH and/or Total Alkalinity can cause corrosion of metals.

How many sides does an aquamarine have?

That depends on whether you are talking rough or faceted. The crystalline structure of a rough aquamarine is hexagonal (six sided). After the aquamarine has been shaped and finished, the number of sides is totally dependent on the cut of the stone. Different shapes and styles all have a different number of sides.

Where in the earth is aquamarine formed?

Brazil is the largest producer of aquamarines; other important producers are Pakistan, Myanmar (Burma), Russia, China, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya, and the United States (Colorado and California).

Beryl largely comprised of beryllium aluminium cyclosilicate and located in deposits known as granitic pegmatites, which are large structures comprised of interlocking minerals and rocks.

These deposits are sometimes pushed to the surface through natural geological processes. When beryl deposits are forming in the presence of iron it is likely that the crystallization process will result in aquamarine gemstones. As the beryl crystals form iron is essentially trapped inside, fusing with them. If little or no other impurities are present these processes result in aquamarine gems. When other impurities are present the beryl may form into maxixe, emeralds, or golden beryl, amongst others.Source:
