Overall, this is a very good rifle. You can read the review of it on www.gunblast.com. I actually own one (16" flattop gun) and can attest that their review is pretty accurate. The gun shoots well: 1" groups at 100m (not that this is a real test, but I haven't had the chance to try it at longer distances than that) and has good, positive extraction/ejection. It is very reliable, shooting steel cased Russian stuff, as well as good USA made brass ammo without issue. I have even shot it with some very beat up, (ahem) "individually appropriated" milspec mags with steel followers and have had no problems in at least 1000 rounds. That said, the trigger is pretty stiff and gritty, worse than the Colts and FNs I have been issued in the past. (I don't have a trigger scale but about 8-9 lbs. sounds right.) At any rate, that is pretty easily remedied. Also, the barrel is neither the traditional M-4 contour, nor a genuine bull barrel. This makes the rifle heavier than an M-4 and to my eye, less elegant. I don't think it is chrome lined. The cosmetic factor bothers me more than it should and I can't really explain to you why, but it does. Anyway, it doesn't affect the way it shoots. Bottom line: this AR is as reliable as any milspec gun I have ever carried. If you can get one at a reasonable price and you choose not to, then you get whatever Eric Holder thinks you deserve...
