Classification is the process of slotting all the existing life forms into easily identifiable groups and subgroups based on certain shared characteristics, features, and behavioral patterns. The basis for classification was the recognition that large numbers of existing life forms, both plant and animal, had shared traits and characteristics. Scientists realized that it was necessary to classify all these existing identified life forms into groups and sub-groups, so that the process of studying them could become easier, less time-consuming, and less cumbersome.

Though the 18th century A.D. is credited to be the time when most classification happened, with Carolus Linnaeus being considered the father of taxonomy, actual classification began way back in the time of Aristotle. By the time Linnaeus made his classification chart, he had identified over 18,000 plant species, many of them sharing similar characteristics. The need to isolate different plants into groups and subsequent sub-groups based on shared traits and characteristic features formed the basis and aim of classification.....:)

because Aristotle had a system to classify organisms on earth that only included plants and animals like human beings. The reason why euglena would have been hard was because it is capable of photosynthesis, which is natural for a plant type organism, but it was also capable of moving which was not something that plants would do but something humans or animals would do.

Aristotle and his wife Pythias had one daughter named Pythias (yes they both had the same name. Aristotle and a handmaiden of his daughters had an illegitimate son named Nicomachus.

Aristotle was a famous philosopher of the ancient Greece a rock star of the time so could have fathered several unknown children. He also helped in the raising of many people's children. In this regard he acted as a benefactor, teacher, and surrogate father.

Aristotle observed that during a lunar eclipse, the shape of the Earth's shadow on the moon was curved. He reasoned that only a spherical object could cast a curved shadow, leading him to believe that the Earth was round. Additionally, Aristotle noted that as ships sail away from the shore, the hull disappears before the mast, suggesting the curvature of the Earth.
