Atlantic Ocean

The largest body of water that is to the est of Florida, is the Gulf of Mexico. It is an extension of and part of the Atlantic Ocean.

Yes. They are known to inhabit the Atlantic Ocean. They usually prefer warm oceans and seas around the equator and spanning upto the tropic of cancer on one side and the tropic of capricorn on the other. They dont live in cold waters and so, do not have the need to migrate. However, they have been known to swim up rivers. They can survive in both salt and fresh water and have been spotted in both rivers and oceans.

The Northwest Passage, except that it isn't imaginary; it's just usually frozen. For the last couple of years, good icebreakers have been able to make it.

Because it was a long term source of water, and the easiest and fastest mode of travel, as well as a source of food.

Almost all settlements and even modern cities are located near water for the reasons cited above. It was the easiest and cheapest means of transport at the time and is still a major transportation method. Until the advent of railroad, most settlement patterns in the US were based on water routes.

It would depend upon where you plan to cross the Atlantic. Between Newfoundland or Nova Scotia Canada and the UK the actual over water time would be about 3 hours. If you were to cross from Miami to the west coast of Africa it may be as much as 9 hrs.

I am taking it as middle of Atlantic ocean. They are5080 miles (approx. value) away from each other. Note that this is a straight distance between the two places. The actual distance may vary according to the flight path or road/sea route chosen.

Greenland borders both the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. The largest island to lie completely within the Atlantic Ocean is Great Britain (80,823 sq mi/209,331 sq km) followed by Newfoundland (42,031 sq mi/108,860 sq km).

The Saint Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes Waterway opened the Great Lakes to ocean-going vessels. The move to wider ocean-going container ships - which do not fit through the locks on these routes - has limited container shipping on the lakes. Most Great Lakes trade is of bulk material and bulk freighters of Seawaymax-size or less can move throughout the entire lakes and out to the Atlantic. Larger ships are confined to working in the lakes themselves, only barges can access the Illinois Waterway system providing access to the Gulf of Mexico. Despite their vast size, large sections of the Great Lakes freeze over in winter, interrupting most shipping. Some icebreakers ply the lakes, keeping the shipping lanes open through most of the winter.

The Great Lakes are also connected to the Gulf of Mexico by way of the Illinois River (from the Chicago River) and the Mississippi River. An alternate track is via the Illinois River (from Chicago), to the Mississippi, up the Ohio, and then through the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway (combination of a series of rivers and lakes and canals), to Mobile Bay and the Gulf. Commercial tug-and-barge traffic on these waterways is heavy.

Pleasure boats can also enter or exit the Great Lakes by way of the Erie Canal and Hudson River in New York. The Erie Canal connects to the Great Lakes at the east end of Lake Erie (at Buffalo, NY) and at the south side of Lake Ontario (at Oswego, NY).

Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey.

It depends on how its done. a Man and a Women have both done it, different routes. One from Africa to south America. One from the New England area to Europe. it took the 2-3 months, but distance was also gained while sleeping on a boat at night. A Guy named Dan Martin is going to be doing the whole distance. Gps will drop him back in the water exactly where he left it the previous day, and he's claiming it to take 4 months of swimming 8 hrs a day.
