At my studio, you need a leotard and tights (any color, any style) and for pointe, this year my teacher required us all to wear wrap skirts. We wear our hair in a bun for ballet and pointe, but our buns are usually pretty sloppy for class. We use neat buns for performances, but for class its mostly to keep the hair out of our faces.Many schools wear leotards and tights but in some less strict ones a t-shirt and shorts is fine. You may feel more confortable in a t-shirt ansd shorts but it may be better for your improvement to wear a leotard as a teacher can see your shapes more clearly. The best thing you can do is ask your teacher.
