Orthodox girls do have bat mitzvah celebrations at age 12. Bar mitzvah is at age 13.
I don't think that people would put up their speech on the Internet. But first, summarize your portion. Then, try to think of how it affects your life. Give examples of how it affects. That would be a great time to bring up your mitzvah project. Talk about your project briefly. Don't say one word about it, summarize of how you thought of it or what was the outcome. Also, thank your Rabbi/Cantor, Parents, Siblings and the people that you invited to celebrate this special moment in your life. Don't go to much into the thanking because it won't make sense.
It's no different than adults. Just right the child's name on the envelope.
By the way, Bar Mitzvah is for boys and Bat Mitzvah is for girls.
Ham is not a traditional celebration dinner for a Jewish man's birthday. In fact, many Jews NEVER eat ham because it is prohibited by Jewish law.
Give them $18- it's traditional
A bat mitzvah is when a Jewish girl takes on the religious responsibilities of an adult and this is a religious ceremony. A quinceanera is a 15th birthday celebration that is held in parts of Latin America and is the transition from girl to woman. A quinceanera isn't religious in nature. ((Correction: A Quinceanera is extremely religious, usually as a Catholic event. Before the actual event the quinceanera and her family go to a mass where the priest blesses the quinceanera and she confirms her faith in the church and it's teachings. The quinceanera signifies her becoming an adult not just socially but religiously - she is an adult in the eyes of the church. A quinceanera represents the fact that the girl now has responsibilities as an adult and should not be made out to be as meaningless as a sweet 16. The difference between Bat Mitzvahs and Quinceaneras? One is a Jewish celebration and the other is a Catholic celebration.))
Ari's Did you know:
Ari Gold's daughter, Sarah, dated a young actor named Max Ballard, much to her father's dismay.
There's no tradition about Bat Mitzva dresses, and as a matter of fact, Bat Mitzva is only a few decades old so there aren't many traditions anyway.
However, many congregations might find a skirt or dress that is above knee height, inappropriate without having to do with a Bat Mitzva. This is something of a social norm, and can change from one society/congregation to another.
I would use a Candy man and a Candy cart. The Candy Cart should have red and white stripes. I would also decorate the room with humongous lollypops.
A girl becomes a Bat Mitzvah on her 12th birthday. This is when she is considered an adult in regard to taking on the religious responsibilities of a Jewish adult. The Bat Mitzvah ceremony for Jewish girls is how the girl publicly acknowledges that she is willing to accept this responsibility. A Bar Mitzvah is the same thing for a Jewish boy at the age of thirteen

They're both "coming-to-age" parties. They celebrate you becoming a woman, the only diff. is that one is when you're 15, the other when you're 16.

The "Bat Mitzvah" comes from the Reform and Conservative movements in Judaism.
Good Question!!! It depends on which side you are Jewish on.
If you are Jewish on your dad's side than sorry, you have to convert to Judaism but it is NOT EASY!!
If it is on your mom's side you might as well call yourself a FULL JEW!! It only matters if you are on your mom's side.
On the other hand if you are from your mom's side then We have some work to do
A young girl has many things she has to learn before her coming of age
She has to Learn Hebrew, Read Torah, Read different Blessings, etc. She starts training when she is 10-11 and then learns till she is 13 (the age)
Multiples of $18 is the tradition.
Not at all. Bat Mitzvah and Bar Mitzvah are both social functions rather than spiritual ones. The ceremonies are societal, helpful for the families involved.
The boy (bar) or girl (bat) takes on the religious responsibilities of adults in Judaism.
Bat Mitzvah is the female version of Bar Mitzvah.
If you're male, a suit is the norm. At the least, a dress shirt and slacks.
Being lifted up on a chair for your bar/bat mitzvah or wedding is just for fun, it is only for you your mom, dad, and siblings.
There is no specific tradition of lighting candles at a bat mitzvah ceremony. In fact, if the ceremony is held on a Saturday, candles cannot be lit because it is Shabbat.
