If you want an estimate of value I need to know about the current condition of the rifle. Is it working? is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Very good, or Excellent condition? The model 1938 red Ryder first came out in 1972 and has 13 variations of that model. Before that it was the model 311, a Red Ryder set, made between 1947-50. Before that, it was a number 111 model 40 Red Ryder 1939-40. So if you have an original 1938 Red Ryder its going to take a lot more information to I identify it first, and then give an estimate of value.

Daisy actually made the rifle ling before it became known as the Red Ryder series. The rifle came out in 1910 but was named Red Ryder in 1939 and continued on from there.

In a BB gun (Not airsoft) this is considered very slow.

I believe this is a BB rifle not a BB gun. It was made by Daisy and is a Daisy model 1894. I'm not exactly sure of the date. Most likely made around 1969-72

If you ask someone to name a BB gun they would most likely say "Daisy" It doesn't mean they are the best, but as far as modern BB gun companies go, they are the oldest. Crosman actually makes more models and more expensive models than Daisy. The most expensive model is made by Feinwerkbau. Their Olympic match rifles cost upwards of $3000 each.

Yes it is possible. If you are struck in the head, eye, ear or any other vital organ it could kill you. Now it you are asking about Airsoft BB's then the chances are not likely to kill you but will sting if it hits bare skin.

Daisy has been making BB guns sense 1898. You need to be more specific about the model you want to know about.

The Hahn model 45 made between 1958-1970. Crosman airgun bought Hahn corp and didn't change the dies so all the Crosman model said P.Y. Hahn. In 1970 Crosman changed the model to the "Frontier 36". These bb guns were known s "Leakers" because they leaked so much C02. In good condition they are worth between $45 to $60. I own 2 of these and "Yes they both leak C02."

At it's very best this rifle is worth $18 in Very good condition. It is not worth repairing.

I would like to give you an answer, but I can not find any information on a Daisy BB gun model 38. I did find information on a Daisy BB rifle model 38. It was made between 1938-41 and again after the war from 1948-52. In order to give you an estimate of value (For the Rifle model 38) I need to know the current condition of the rifle. Is it still working? Is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition (Like New). without more information It is not possible to answer this question.

Answering this is a matter of personal opinion. But considering my collection is around 100 different BB, Pellet and PCP airguns. I have my own opinion as to the Worst airgun. I'll give it this rating because of accuracy, power, and construction. Consider this. Pellet guns can attain a speed of 1600 FPS (Feet Per Second) in some of the high end models. PCP ( PreCharged Pneumatic) rifles and guns are capable of firing pellets as large as 50 Caliber and capable of bring down a moose. BB guns and rifles are designed for fun and just plinking at targets. They usually do not attain a speed over 730 FPS and usually are around the 300 to 400 FPS mark. Keep in mind that the Daisy Red Ryder is rated at 350 FPS.

My choice for a poor pistol is the Marksman Repeater BB gun. It cost about $20 and is rated at 250 FPS, and I think it's stretching it a little to reach that speed. If you look at the barrel it's about 3 inches long. This doesn't provide enough time to give it much accuracy beyond the end of the barrel. The pistol has been made under several different names like the model 2002/1010/1010C/1010H/1010HC and 1010X. All of them are basically the same model.

Marksman is owned by Beeman air guns who are known for making some Excellent Beeman models. Marksman is not one of them

I've located information on a Daisy model 155 BB rifle, not a gun. If this is what you are asking about, it's value is around $55 to $80 if it is still working. It was originally made from 1946-49 and again from 1952-53. Originally it had a Blue finish and a painted finish in 1953.

The Red Ryder BB Rifle can only be adjusted for up and down not left or right (windage) Select a target about 20 feet away. ( beyond that the rifle is not very accurate, that the nature of BB guns and rifles.)

Aim at the center of the target and fire. If the BB strikes too low you need to raise the rear sight a notch or two. If it strikes too high you need to lower the rear sight. If it strikes left or right of the target then adjust your aim a little in the opposite direction to correct for the strike. Do not do this on a windy day or you will be all over the target.

No BB guns are not powerful enough to kill a deer. However they do make a pellet rifle that will kill a deer or other large game. these pellet rifles are in the PreCharged Pneumatic class of airguns (PCP). the require 2000 to 3000 PSI to charge them. A special hand pump or a scuba tank is required to fill the air chamber in the rifle. A BB is a .175 caliber projectile. PCP air rifles can fire a 45 or 50 Caliber pellet. The pellet is about as large around as a mans thumbnail. It will bring down a deer, boar or moose.
