The BMW hood latch release lever is located on the floor, next to the drivers seat. Pull the lever upward to release the hood latch.

disconnect battery ,but before doing so write down any codes required eg radio code etc

Depends. A 135i, 5 series, 6 series, 7 series, M series, X5M or a X6M are fast but anything else are not as fast.

You are probably referring to the "cabin" air filter located under the dash near the blower fan. It needs changing when dirty.

You will need to hold the left odometer reset button. Yes, it is that easy to reset the oil change mileage.

Disconnect the hoses connected to the radiator and drain the system. (The water will come out by itself :) )

Then you just take the old radiator out and put the new one in.

Connect the hoses, fill the system up with water (you might want to add some antifreeze) and don't forget to air the system.

There is a little screw on the radiator that you have to loosen, and when water is coming out from the screw, you tighten it again.

official numbers from BMW are saying 5.1 but Motor Trend and Car and Driver are saying that number is conservative and have produced easy (and repeated) 4.7 sec. times.

try turning on the acc so all the light are on. pump the gas peddle to the floor three or four time within five sec. without the car running of course. set key to zero. hold down odometer reset. turn key to position 1. hold for 5 seconds. until reset comes up. press again quick. turn key to 0 position again.

Yes, the fuse for the cigarrette lighter (#52) is inside the trunk, on the right side ... you have to open the panel where the battery is located (easy, by hand, indicated with an arrow on the handle, no tools required).

As soon as you open the panel you will see the fuses list on the back of the same panel ... the cigarrette lighter fuse is listed as #52. The fuses are just to the very right, above the battery, close to the top.

There is another set of fuses under the hood, they are for other functions.

Depending on the model and the year of the BMW, it can range anywhere from about $10,000 up into the hundred thousands.

I guess the big question is.. are you hooking up a new tach in existing place of old one or aftermarket.... either way your best bet if you wanna go cheap and don't want to pay mechanic costs.. go to your local autozone and purchase a Hannes manual for your make and year of car... it has very detailed wiring diagram in the back of it for every part on your vehicle.... I actually have a 98 BMW 328is Dinan package and purchased a 5 in monster tach just this past monday.... had my tach hooked up and running and installed in a matter of about an hour but that includes running wires.....but for someone to answer your question they really cant unless they have exact same year and make of your car....but as far as the wiring goes obviously the RED=power WHITE=your illumination BLACK=Ground and GREEN=either to yoru negative side of your distributor or if your brave hook into your existing OEM tach in back of your instrument cluster.... hope this helps

You must have an Exhaust wrench or do not try and change your oil.

The Exhaust must be removed to get at the Oil Cooler.

You can get the wrench on Ebay or from the dealer.

Things you will need

Tool kit for oil plug and to remove the lower fairing on the right side.

Be sure you get a complete kit for the oil filter, with all gaskets.

3 qts of good oil

about 2 hours time

You should get a real repair manual, they are worth the cost if you going to do maintenance on you motorcycle yourself.

Clymer would give the the basic knowledge and for the money it worth the cost. I have a factory and a Clymer. Both have information you need and the Clymer is larger so you can find it when you need it.

The dealer never removes the exhaust, get a good set of Allen wrenches. You can remove the bolts with long Allen set, the oil filter is hinged and designed to be installed with out removing the exhaust. A Allen set that can be used in a in with a socket works well.

If your 328 is automatic it will be located behind (not in front) of the radiator, it is the metal finned thing in the center of the fan. if your car is manual, you don't have one. to remove it you must disconnect it from the water pump pully. use a thin wrench to turn the bolt and lodge a screw driver through the screws on the pully to prevent it from moving otherwise it will keep turning. the fan clutch bolt is reverse threaded, which means you must turn the wrench "clockwise". after the fan/fanclutch assembly is removed just a unscrew the the fan clutch from the finns. there are tools that can make this process easier but i had no problem with the wrench and screwdriver. try searching for "e46 fan clutch tool" on yahoo or google.
