8 quarts of oil. If you're changing the oil, standard socket size for the oil plug is 17mm, and the oil cap is 36mm.

87 lb-ft, +- 7 lb-ft. That's about 119 Nm.

i saw one on a car but i muself was wondering what it meant?

1. Open the hood and locate the filter housing on the driver's side of the engine towards the front.
2. Unscrew the hose clamp connected to the housing and pull the hose off the housing.
3. Using a screwdriver, push up the tab holding the mass airflow connector to

   the housing and remove the connector.

4. Using a 10mm socket, remove the two bolts securing the housing to the car frame.
5. Disconnect the other end of the housing from the inlet by inserting a small screwdriver in the tabs and remove the entire assembly from the engine area.
6. Using a T25 bit, remove the (6) torx screws holding the two housing halves together and separate housing.
7. Remove and replace filter.
8. Reassembly is the reverse of the above.

250,000 miles is very common. I have seen cars with 400,000. I am currently driving a 1997 with 205,000 daily on a 70 mile commute. Keep the oil changed and use quality oil and filters. I use Mobil full synthetic. If you are buying a used car check the tailpipe for oil and soot. If it is covered in oil pass on the car.

If it was me i would choose the BMW . And I did . It depends on what kind of person you are if you love sportiness go with the BMW , if you like A more ''modern'' car go with the Audi . I think the resell value is higher with the BMW .

You will have to remove the Left and Right engine

farings and the faring at the Top ( around the radio controls ) then remove the gas tank...air filter is under the gas tank..(the best place to hide the filter) may want to change the fuel filter as well...when disconnecting the fuel lines

be sure to properly re-connect them. This is a bit of a job. Removing all the screws and popping off the faring sides. Should take about an hour.

It's located on the bottom of the engine, on the left front corner. Recessed in a round cavity.

There are 4 or 5 R1100's. The R1100R,RS,RT,S,GS. All are R1100's but have very different seat removal procedures.
