Dermal piercings are single point piercings and are not at all like normal piercings that have an entry and exit point so more care needs to be used in looking after them in the early healing stages. The dermal will discharge just like a normal piercing this needs to be rinsed away daily, subjecting the dermal to tanning beds, tanning oils and even spray tanner is not a good idea for the first few weeks post piercing.

The coatings on the skin (spray tanner and tanning oils) should never be allowed to get into the piercing, it's a puncture wound, and will react negatively to these solutions and oils. Ultra violet light doesn't help the healing process and can create a hot spot at the piercing sight damaging the newly pierced tissue. It can take up to three months for the body to heal a dermal anchor, so covering it with a round band-aid while using a tanning booth or bed is a good idea.

There are idiots out there that will do the piercing, however that doesn't make them professional body piercers. Then there are idiots that will get piercings of tattoos while pregnant, this too does not mean they are the smartest or most intelligent people in the world. No self respecting professional body piercer will pierce anyone when they are pregnant and or breast feeding. The chances of complications and secondary infections is just not worth the risk to the mother, child or studio insurance policy. So I think I have pointed out that getting a piercing whilst pregnant is not a smart decision made by a mother who cares about herself or her unborn child.

Depends which part of your lip but they usually say stud at first because of the swelling but they usually ask if you wanted a ring when healed.

If you'be had it before and your body has rejected it it's best. Of to get it redone as it will save you time, money and pain. But I'd you've taken it out and it's closed up (100% healed) then you can get it redone 3-4 times (with a needle) but you should always check with your local piercer as well as online. :)

To clean a naval piercing, you should use one of the options above. A good brand is H2Ocean piercing cleanser. If the naval is infected, there are many steps to take. Soak with warm water on a cloth until it is not hot anymore. Use hydrogen peroxide to drain the infections, but you should not use it often becuase it will freeze the cells and complicate the healing process.

The nose typically hurts more because the piercing goes through the cartilage. The belly button piercing is just through a flab of skin.

They don't. Navel piercings tend to be pretty low on the pain scale though. The soreness that comes with healing will most likely be more bothersome than the actual piercing.

it all depends on how infected it is and how long you've had the peircing for. if it is a small infection with a little redness and puss and you've had it longer than six weeks just take the bar out and out it in boiling water for a about 5mins so that it is sterile and clean. then using and antibacterial solution (tcp or savlon) and wam water soak the peircing without the bar for about 10mins. if you do this once or twice a day for about 2 weeks. if it doesnt clear up you may have to remove the peircing or go see a professional. hope ive help ive had mine peirced for 6 months

You wanna wait at least 3 months to start stretching. You don't want to wear plastic plugs or tunnels but tapers are fine only because you don't wear them. Never leave a taper in after stretching because it'll make a thin spot in your lobe because of the uneven weight.

The skin shouldn't heal over the back of the jewelry. Its common for the piercing to kinda nestle and from a sort of crater in your lip. If its starting ot heal over, go to your piercer and they can give you a longer stud.
