How long do border collies care for their young?
Border Collies, like many dog breeds, typically care for their puppies for about 8 to 12 weeks after birth. During this time, the mother provides essential care, including nursing, grooming, and teaching social skills. After this period, the puppies should be gradually weaned and socialized to prepare for their new homes. The mother's instinct to nurture diminishes as the puppies become more independent.
Can a border collie live strictly outside when it's -10 celsius?
Absolutely not. He would have to come inside every two hours to warm up. I wouldn't even let him out for that long. A Border Collie's coat is simply not thick enough to withstand those types of temperature.
Should you let your border collie puppy off the lead when on the beach?
It depends. Puppies are naturally very energy filled and they want to smell and chase anything and everything. This can often cause them to get lost or run away, as they follow a smell. I would say no, as it is very risky. Everything is exciting to them, and often they aren't well trained yet. Bring a long lead, and let him run around on that, but I wouldn't take off the lead until I know he would come back even with distractions.
Are chihuahuas and collies good pet together?
Um i am not quite sure on this, but i think they might not get along. Even though collies are great pets and are gentle, Chihuahuas can get aggressive (hard to believe) . But, if you get them both around the same age(puppies) they will grow up together and might like each other. Hope i helped. :)
