The answer to the question when did Scouting Start in the US, is contained in Colin Walker's book, 'The Dawn of the World Scout Movement', published in 2008. The small town of Burnside Kenntucky had a Scout Group formed formed by Mrs Myra Greeno Bass who visited Great Britain in early 1908. On her return home she formed the Eagle Troop with her husband Willam. The boys wore red kneckerchiefs. Horace Smith was the first troop leader. The troop established in 1908 predated the BSA by two years. The Eagle troop were not the only 1908 Scout Group formed under American 'jurisdiction'. In the same publication as above Scout Historian Colin Walker details the formation of a Scout Group in an American College/School in Smyrnia, Asia Minor called 'The American Collegiate Institute for Boys. Baden-Powell is famous for creating the worldwide boy scout movement. The first boy scout camp was in July 1907. In 1908, the scouting association was in full stride and in 1953 scouts was introduced to Australia. :)

On his return from Africa in 1903, Baden-Powell found that his military training manual, Aids to Scouting, had become a best-seller, and was being used by teachers and youth organisations. Following his involvement in the Boys' Brigade as Brigade Secretary and Officer in charge of its scouting section, with encouragement from his friend, William Alexander Smith, Baden-Powell decided to re-write Aids to Scouting to suit a youth readership.

In 1907 Lord Baden Powell of Gilwell England took his first group of boys to Brownsea Island for what he termed an experiment in scouting. He wrote "Scouting for Boys" in 1908 and is commonly credited with starting the World Scouting Movement we know today. Different sources often list either 1907 or 1908 as the date.

William Boyce brought Powell's scouting ideas over to the US after encountering scouts in England and founded the BSA in 1910. The other scouting organizations already present in the US quickly folded into the new BSA.

Baden-Powell also recognized the need for a girls program and so enlisted his sister, Agnes, to help start the girl guides; and a program for younger boys and so started "Cubbing" about 8 years after starting the Boy Scouts. Cubbing received some resistance in America due to a fear of diverting adult leadership from the Boy Scouts but was finally started there in 1930.

There is not a set "length" of time for earning the Eagle Scout Rank. The Eagle Trail, as it is often referred to, begins with joining scouts. The first three ranks earned are Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. Scouting encourages Scout units to provide a program that allows Scouts to earn these ranks in their first year of Scouting. Keep in mind that the Scout must do the work and become proficient in the required skills. It is doable in a year but may take longer. In order to continue to advance in rank, a Scout must then start to earn Merit Badges, provide Community Service, Leadership within his Troop, and continue to demonstrate conduct consistent with the Scout Oath and Law. The next ranks do require a minimum time in rank to advance. Star Scout - 4 months, Life Scout - 6 months, and Eagle - 6 months. They are funded through donations and fund raisers. Boy Scouts have an annual popcorn sale, and Girl Scouts have an annual cookie sale. They actually only get a small percentage of the sales. For instance, Girl Scouts sell their cookies for $3.50 a box, and they get to keep $0.60 of each sell. They depend heavily on donations.

Depends one what you consider best, BSA popcorn is made by trails end and trails end is owned by weaver popcorn, weaver makes all the popcorn and then for the chocalate coated stuff weaver ships the carmal popcorn to another company who then uses an enrober to coat it with popcorn and for the cheese idk but yes its really good but is it the best is an answer of opinion
