BSA has no restrictions on women in scouting. However, a troop may bar women from camping if they choose to.

What do Boy Scout uniforms look like?

Lord RobertBaden-Powell was a Commander for the English Army near 1900-1907. He used boys 11-17 years old to take battle plans behind enemy lines. He called these boys scouts. The battle plans to the regular eye just looked like a butterfly, but when folded correctly, it revealed what should be done next. After his tour in Africa, he wrote a book called, "Scouting for boys". He founded the Boy Scouts of England in 1907. How did scouting come to America Well, Ernest Seton was a businessman near 1908. He took a trip to England on business. The weather was awful one night, thick pea soup fog everywhere. He was looking for a building, he couldn't see where he was going. Then he met this Boy Scout of Great Britain The scout took the man to the building he was looking for. The man went inside, did his business, and the scout took him to the scouting headquarters at the man's request. The man got out his billfold to tip the scout, and the scout said, "I cannot accept this. This is my good deed for today." This mysterious unnamed scout made such an impression, the businessman wanted to start the Boy Scouts of America. He accomplished this in 1910. The BSA is getting ready to celebrate its 100th year in 2010. We are the only version of Boy Scouts who have ranks.
