Well it's not certain at this point if he's dead. It ended yesterday with him flatlining....but doctors were on the verge of trying to resuscitate him and then it cut to a different scene. So we cant say at this moment if he is dead or not. We find out tonight if the doctors bring him back.

Max got run over by his daughter Lauren, he survived. Tanya admitted to running over Max so that Lauren could go free and not have to be imprisoned. Lauren later gave herself into the police as she couldn't take the lies and seeing her Mum behind bars. Lauren currently lives in a foster home in Essex. The Branning's haven't got any major story lines coming up soon as EastEnders are focusing more on the other characters seeing as the Branning's were the main family last year.
Is lucas Johnson dead in eastenders?
His fate is unknown some people think that Lucas is dead because when he gave the bible to the Police Warden he said "I don't need it where I'm going." Then he said Amen.
However some people Lucas is not dead because EastEnders can't write out such a brilliant actor.
Personally I believe that Lucas is dead because of what he said to the Warden which makes us think that possibly he could commit suicide however if his 'death' was off screen then there is every possibility that he might return in years to come.
If he does return then it will be a long time because of the murders and false imprisonment.
I reckon that he could return in 15 years if he gets lucky in court (Which could be shown off screen because Don Gilet has finished his acting as Lucas for now.)
I hope that Lucas survives but I think he will commit Suicide.
