Is it normal to have some vaginal bleeding on the day after intercourse if you had a cesarean baby two months ago?

User Avatar

I've had two c-sections. With my first I didn't have sex for2 or months afterwards because of complications, but with my 2nd, I had sex 5 days after my c-section. As long as it is something you want to do and you feel your body is ready, than there shouldn't be any problems. If you have sex and it hurts and then there is bleeding, that is a sign that you should probably wait a couple more weeks. You may not have fully healed. If you have sex (make sure you are gentle!! you just had MAJOR surgury!!) and you don't feel any discomfort, but there is a bit of blood afterwards, it could just be that part of the uterus lining has come away from all the 'penis poking' going on up there. I do not believe this is a problem. It has happened to me and lots of my female friends. I think that if the bleeding doesn't stop, or it gets heavier and stays 'bright red' for more than a few days, you might want to check with the doctor. It probably isn't anything, but I'm sure it would make you feel better!

Are c-sections safe?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It's not supposed to be.

Sometimes, c-sections can't be helped for different reasons:

1. The mother's pelvis is too small for the baby to pass through

2. The baby shifts position in the womb.

3. Illnesses that make it too dangerous for vaginal births

4. Umbilical cord gets twisted in the womb

5. Nothing happens during labor

Why do women who have had a c section always have to have c sections?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Not always, there are women who tries to have a vaginal birth after their first C-section but that is also up to the doctor. When having a c-section there will be a scar and that scar can burst during labor and with every c-section the scar gets thicker and more vulnerable. That is why they say you always have to stick to c-sections.

When should you get your period after having a c section and tying your tubes at the same time?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It all depends on how long you have/are breastfeeding for and how often you breastfeed. I had my last on April 3, 2009 via c-section with a tubal and I am just now beginning to completely ween him off but I still havent gotten my period. I have started getting some cramping like PMS becasue I don't breastfeed exclusively. As long as you breastfeed your body produces the hormone Prolactin which basically tells your ovaries it is not ready to bear another child yet so you normally don't ovulate. If you don't ovulate, you don't get a period. Once you stop breastfeeding though, your period should return as normal the following month.

Ive had two c sections then a normal birthdo you have to have a c section if you have another child?

I have seen women who delivered vaginally after previous cesarean sections. These are called VBAC (Vaginal birth after C-section.) You have to discuss with your OB doc. There is an increase risk for uterine rupture in VBAC. This is because you have a scar in your uterus from previous surgery. It is a potential weak point under pressure. This is why the most common reason for having a cesarean is the previous history of cesarean. There are plenty of other reasons for having C-section initially like breech, multiple births, fetal distress, and others.

What is better a vaginal birth or c section after three c sections?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes. It's called VBAC - vaginal birth after Caesarian. It used to be thought that it was unsafe to do so, but recently the VBAC has become popular and with work and care, an acceptable practice. Of course, your doctor will have insight into your specific case; it depends on what the conditions of your other c-sections were as to whether they will recommend a vaginal birth for you.

Can you get pregnant straight after c section?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If your tubes were tied, c-section or not there should be no way to get pregnant. Unless of course the operation where they tied your tubes was botched somehow.

Tubal ligation is one of the most effective means of birth control but still not 100%. Between 1 in 500 and 1 in 1,000 women will get pregnant every year following a tubal ligation. Occasionally tubes will even heal.

If you've had a tubal ligation yet think you might be pregnant you should contact your health care provider as soon as possible.

Excersing after a c-section?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Most doctors recommend waiting six to eight weeks after giving birth by Cesarean Section before starting (or continuing) an exercise routine. Obviously there are cases that involve a longer wait time, and there are some women whose wait time is shorter. Because your readiness to begin an exercise routine is dependent upon your body's unique recovery process, it's best to get a specific recommendation from your doctor.

It is best to consult your OBGYN for the correct answer for you and your situation. But I have heard from doctors myself that a person should wait 3 cycles before trying again, thereby letting the body get back to normal. But again ask your doctor for the best answer. Good luck!!
