One cent. It's a common circulation coin.

Please note - "penny" is simply slang for a cent, so a "one cent penny" is a bit like saying "a round circle". Also, coins are struck or minted, not printed. Paper bills are printed.

The image on the back of the Canadian Dollar coin is that of a Canadian Loon, a waterbird native to Canada. Hence, the coins are often refered to as "Loonies."

As a point of interest, the Canadian Two Dollar coin is sometimes refered to as a "Toonie" (or, less commonly, "Two-nie") although it has no waterfowl imagery at all (Toonies have an image of a polar bear on the back).

Both the Loonie and the Toonie have a portrait of Queen Elizabeth the Second on the front.

It was also a little bit derogatory, because when first proposed many Canadians were a little resistant to the idea of a dollar coin and therefore considered it a little bit nuts or 'loonie'.

It depends on the amount of wear and tear if in circulation. Otherwise in USA it would be worth $10. however with an ever changing economy the exchange rate would be far less in most other countries.

I just today started researching the same question. There are a few sites that show anywhere from $800-$1,000. Gold has gone way up. I searched just a year or so ago and it was just over $500.00

A jeweler with a loop can tell you if a gemstone is real otherwise it is hard to tell today with the created stones. Notice the colors and shape of the stone. Often created stones have colors that are too bright and too perfect. In the United States the created stone is suppose to be identified by the jeweler. If in doubt ask.

They are worth 4-16 dollars in circulated condition. These coins contain 80% silver!

The one dollar Canadian coin is called a loonie or loony because the coin has a loon picture on one side. The toonie or toony is worth two lonnies because it is a two dollar coin.

Canada did not strike any cents with that date. Please check the coin again and post a new question including any inscriptions that might help to ID it.

All countries whose currency is denominated in dollars and cents use the same system, with 100 cents = 1 dollar.

The value of a 1931 Canadian 1 cent coin depends on its condition. You can expect to fetch between 0.50 and 3 US dollars for such a coin in good condition.

This isn't a coin, but a medallion issued by Shell Oil company sometime between 1967 and 1970. It wasn't legal tender. 1873 is the year Mackenzie was PM, not when the medallion was made.

They sell for anywhere from .50cents a couple of dollars depending on the quality and if you can find a collector.

To give you a valuation, we need mint mark and condition. The mint mark is located on the back under "five cents".

1924(no mark) can range from 1.50(circulated) to 160(brilliant uncirculated)

1924-D can range from 8(circulated) to 1,100(brilliant uncirculated)

1924-S can range from 15(circulated) to 4,250(brilliant uncircualted)

There were only two types of coins made, a 1 cent and a 50 cent coin. They were never put into circulation. They are very rare and the original strikes are worth a great deal. They were re-struck in various forms.

The 1 cent in the re-strike is worth about $150 up to $35,000 for one of the original strikes. The 50 Cent piece in a re-strike $7,500 to $10,000.

They're pretty common, I would say it's worth just the face value.
