Although the name of the candy bar sounds like the name of the famous baseball player Babe Ruth, the Curtiss Candy Company traditionally claimed that it was named after President Grover Cleveland's daughter, Ruth Cleveland. The candy maker, located on the same street as Wrigley Field, named the bar "Baby Ruth" in 1921, as Babe Ruth's fame was on the rise, over 30 years after Cleveland had left the White House, and 17 years after his daughter, Ruth, had died. The company did not negotiate an endorsement deal with Ruth, and many saw the company's story about the origin of the name to be a devious way to avoid having to pay the baseball player any royalties. Curtiss successfully shut down a rival bar that was approved by, and named for, Ruth, on the grounds that the names were too similar.

Every type of candy bars in the world?
There are literally millions of canfy bars in this world. Of course, there are major brands that many people will know. But there are also plenty of small brands that are loctaed just in a single country, and even more that are privately owned companies and manufacturers that only serve a few hundred people or so. To list every type / kind would be almost impossible to do so.

It all depends what kids like. Kit Kats, and Crunch bars are usually like by many though. If you are buying the candy for a class or a group don't get anything with peanuts unless you know for sure that no one has allergies. Glad to help :)

Why was butter nut candy bar discontinued?
Butternut was a candy bar since 1916. It was originally made and produced by Hollywood candy co. Later it was owned and produced by Leaf candy Co. eventually Leaf was swallowed up by the giant candy killer Hersheys. Hersheys only produced two leaf products payday and zero and left the pothers to sit on the bug candy shelf in the sky. Hershey was able to keep the other candies from the market by holding on to the trademark. They were supposed to keep the candy in the stream of commerce in order to renew the trademarks.
Eventually an Independent candy producer named kenneth wiesen of NY wrestled the trademark away from hershey and is now working with the USPTO to try to bring the candy back to its adoring fans. stay tuned.
