What were a child's responsibilities in the 1600's?
As our children grew, the young boys learned how to fish, hunt, gather and work on small crafts. They also learned about the animals, the plant life, and that all Life is Sacred. They would learn from their parents and listen to the sacred stories from the Elders. For example, they learned respect for a rock, the water or the birds. They learned respect for each other. Young girls would learn how to collect shellfish, plant the crops, tan the animal hides, and make clothing. They also learned respect for all life. Both girls and boys learned the principals of working together as a People.
Children in the 1600s were guided and instructed in how to behave, by example as well as words. If a child misbehaved they would be reminded of it and possibly made to feel badly that they had offended someone.

What were the typical dimensions of a 17th century galleon ship?
A typical 17th-century galleon ship generally measured between 100 to 150 feet in length and had a beam of about 25 to 30 feet. These ships often had a displacement of around 300 to 1,000 tons, depending on their size and purpose. Galleons were designed with multiple decks and a high stern, which contributed to their distinctive profile and made them effective for both cargo transport and naval warfare. Their size and design allowed them to carry substantial armaments and provisions for long voyages.
How much did a house cost in the 1600s?
5000-10000$ houses, depending on the size of the house. Most of the rich people in europe and britain had slaves and maidens for them, so they where usually able to have a big house and maintain it. Those people(commonly called noblemen/gentlemen) usually got there wealth from there jobs or inherited the money. It was also possible that the wife of the noblemen(commonly called a lady) would get the money from the noblemen after they died, or just was married to a noblemen and was treated well because of it. Although currency has gotten quite cheaper over time, the people with bigger houses still had a lot to pay. Other factors could be how well the house was built, or what condition the house was in if the house that was being bought already had a person who once lived in it. The final factor could be how much the old owner wanted the house to be worth in general. If the house was a cottage, it could be worth way less then the house the size of a modern mansion. There where also instances where the people in the 1600s lived in the forest, where no one would know about there existance. They would usually hunt for food and cook fire. They could have had a garden, and created a small house for themselves, for no cost besides destroying part of the forest. There was also a good chance the person in the forest would be found in the forest eventually. Lots of people seized the opportunity of land, not only for farmland or just if they needed to hunt in the wilderness for food. The people who where caught by others would either be sent to jail for tresspassing (because the land was automatically owned by the government, so if you wheren't prohibited to hunt and live there it was illegal) or even worse. Theres also a case for people who lived in the thirteen colonies. There where rules and laws for each town that settled into the new world. But they where only allowd to create the new colonies with help and observance from the indigenous people. If the indigenous people felt threatened, they would usually attack the british or there relationship would be done for. Although those people who settled into the new world didn't need to buy anything or needed to get permission from the government, they still needed permission from the indigenous people to settle there, or else a battle could go on. Even with permission from the indigenous people, the settlers needed the materials to start a town and a life. That was why they brought the materials to the new world. BUT, they needed permission from the british government to even bring those resources, or even set sail to america in the first place. So technicly, even if you didn't pay for the house, you still needed permission from the british government to start a colony, unless you where never caught tresspassing and living in the woods, or you lived an incredibly long distance from civilization. The final thing I have to say is that in the forest, you would most likely need hunting tools, farming tools, clothes, and many other things from the markets before setting off to live a isolated life, so at the end of the day you couldn't live/by a house without money, even if the only way you ever "paid" for a house was through taxes.
