I don't think so. He was confined most of his childhood in one place or another but I could find no record of him being in Lebanon, IN.

I believe the way the death penalty works in most states is a two-part process. First is the guilt phase, where the jury decides guilt or innocence. If the jury finds the defendant guilty then they decide whether the killing warrents death. They hear the evidence, and make their suggestion to the court. The presiding judge can then follow the suggestion of the jury or he/she can override the jury's suggestion and sentence the guilty person as he/she sees fit. But most judges will not go against the suggested sentence of a jury. In fact in the whole history of American crime it has only been done several times. You can count on one hand the times a judge does not take the suggestion of the jury. And there is a reason for this. It would severely undermine the jury system if judges made a habit of disreguarding the jury's opinion. Makes sense to me.

I could find no evidence that Manson ever lived in New Mexico.

~ Charles Manson was convicted on Mann's Law for transporting a woman from California to New Mexico for purposes of prostitution. As to whether it was Lordsburg or not, I don't know yet.

When Manson failed to sway the parole board in 2007 it was his 11th try for release. His next hearing will take place in 2012, at which time he will be 77 years old.

Sharon Tate was married to movie director Roman Polanski. He was in Europe when Tate and 4 others were murdered by Charles Manson's chums on his orders.

Polanski has had an eventful life. He barely escaped Europe with the onset of WWII, where his whole family was exterminated. In the 1970s he was accused of have sex with a minor female, charges brought on by the girl's mother. Polanski fled the US back to Europe where he stayed for many years.

Just recently those charges finally caught up with him and he is now being charged with sex with a minor. Trouble seems to follow him everywhere.

The most popular and in most opinions the best film on Manson is called Helter Skelter ,starring Steve Railsback as Manson. The movie was based on the True Crime Bestselling book of the same name written by Manson prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi.

The best time to look for the airing of this movie is when one of the Manson gang are up for a parole hearing. Airing the movie keeps the crime fresh in the public's eye as a move to keep the murderers in prison.

It is working, too. Manson has been up for parole many times but has always been denied because in part, public outcry. Sharon Tate's mother was at every parole hearing of Manson and the 3 women who were convicted with him until her recent death. Rumor has it that he is up for another parole hearing in 2010.

Helter Skelter is a slang expression meaning chaos. Charles Manson's use of the expression meant an upheaval or uprising, a race war between whites and blacks.

Also the media liked the ( Full House) motif- Three Jacks ( relatively unimportant) and Two Queens, Miss Tate and Abigail Folger of the coffee family. by the way,. indirectly the Manson Murders catapulted Folger"s coffee to the front lines- of the supermarkets- it was hardly known on the East Coast before the tragic Manson Chanson- yes, it has been the focal point of sick songs and parodies.

Alcatraz never had a death chamber for executions. Those that were condemed to death were transfered to San Quentin, also in the San Frncisco area.

You don't. Manson is kept in solitary confinement 23/7 at Corcoran State Prison in California. He is kept alone for his own safety and it would be virtually impossible to kill him even for the other inmates.
