In the book, it is alluded that Wilbur is a Pot Belly pig-- a common pig used for meats around the West and Midwest in farms. However, in the movie adaptation, the pig depicted is called a Domestic Pig... otherwise known as Sus scrofa domesticus

one Wilbur is supposed to be brown not white in the movie I'm sure i saw Charlotte and she was black she is meant to be gray.

fern is not 8 they took it out and really she is supposed to be 9 and 1/2

She asks her first if she is OK; then she asks if Fern wants to go play with some of her schoolmates. But Fern says no because she enjoys spending time with the animals in Mr. Zuckerman's farm.

E.B. White's book Charlotte's Web was illustrated by Garth Williams.

In 2006, a group of parents in Kansas asked that the book be banned since they felt that talking animals were blasphemous. There has also been criticism that Charlotte's death was inappropriate for a children's book.
