How do you do cheerleading tricks for begginers?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

well what do you define as a beginners backflips? A backflip is simply four steps:

1.Jump up not backwards, it depletes your height if you jump backwards, you also need to throw your arms up into the air(this really makes a difference if you don't do this you will get little height and probably hurt your self).

2.Tuck really tight when your at the peek of you jump, that means grabbing your arms around your legs and pulling your legs into you body tightly.

3.lean backwards so you rotate.

4.spot the ground and land, mostly its a feeling, when you feel your body is about upright just untuck and try to land.

some tips: start by getting a spotter to help you filp. all the spotter has to do is put 1 hand on your back and 1 hand near your thighs. also try going to a gymnasim.

You can do what i did which is learn on a trampoline or some people pools, then try off some high platforms i did it off sand dunes at the beach, the moved to grass slops and finally flat ground grass and concrete. BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS WAY!!!!

This move requires a hell of a lot of confidence so if you are really scared DO NOT DO IT BECAUSE YOU WILL BAIL AND REALLY HURT YOURSELF!!!!!!!

Heres some youtube tutorials I used when i first started:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=521NIVPIxWs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrS2Fd1A3kE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cS4kEY3FhQ

This leads on to some really cool moves like x-outs, flash kicks and gainers.

REMEMBER THIS IS A VERY DANEROUS MOVE SO PLEASE BECAREFUL!!!! DO THIS MOVE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Have fun and good luck! :)

How old do you have to be to have cheerleading class?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I'm not quite sure if you mean teach cheerleading or if you mean to take a class yourself...

Usually to take a cheerleading class the youngest age is usually 3 years old. To teach a cheerleading class I'm not sure, it usually depends on the gym/studio that you want to teach at.

Sorry, hope that helped a little(:

Why would someone try out for a cheerleader?

User Avatar

It's a fun experience. In a way, it's kind of like a sisterhood where you have a whole team that will support you and give you advice on just about anything (especially if you're an underclassmen).

Are you too big to be a flyer in cheerleader if you weigh 120llbs and are 5 foot 6?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I feel ya sister! Im about 5 foot 5 and i weight pretty much 120. im a cheerleader and my dream has always been to fly my coach actually let me for a while but the thing you really have to look at is where do you stand in comparison with the rest of your squad? are you the tallest? (usually height is a bigger deal than weight i promise.) if your not then your weight really shouldnt matter. ( i see this is under diet and weightloss. you dont need to loose any weight to fly you are fine the way you are! ) and if u are the tallest (like me sadley) or the strongest..(like me even more sadley..) chances are you wont get to fly ( like me saddest lol) i know its not cool. If you can do some stunts like scorpion or heel stretches like me that gives you a better chance. SO BASICALLY all you need to look at is are you too tall? and are you good enough? if your like me^^ then you will see your chances arnt that great but if you actually arnt tallest or whatever you prolly wont end up as a backspot like me.. :P

Love,

JV Wildcat cheerleader(:

It really does depend on the rest of those on the team. You're flexibility also matters a lot. You can be the teeniest kid there but if you don't have all your body positions you probably won't fly

What is the most important positon is cheerleading?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

In a cheerleading stunt all positions are important. A flyer is important obviously, because they are the presenter, they are the focus of the crowd, and that job requires a lot of muscle in the arms. A backspot is also very important because they lift and support the ankles, and give the flyer the initial push to get her up, also if anything goes wrong they must catch the flyer. The bases are also important, because they create a safe place for the flyer to stand, and support her legs if you cradle (to finish off the stunt).

Is swimmind harder that cheerleading?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

my personal answer to this would be no. cheerleading takes every single muscle in your body to do everything, swimming is mainly just your arms and legs. i have been a competitive cheerleader for 11 years now and I'm 14 years old. so i think i would know about cheerleading..

What is the difference between a middle split and a straddle?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A straddle consists of at-the-money puts and calls that expire on the same date. Strangles consist of out-of-the-money puts and calls that expire on the same date.

Straddles are lower-risk plays than strangles are. You know the stock is going to change price, and if it changes at all one of your options will go in-the-money and can be exercised. (If you've got a stock that really swings back and forth, and you're watching the straddle carefully, it's possible to cash in on both options by exercising them as they go in-the-money.) With a strangle, there's a gap between the two options where both of them are out-of-the-money and it's possible for both options to expire worthless.

The advantage of straddles: the near certainty that one of the two options will go in-the-money.

The advantage of strangles: out-of-the-money options are A LOT cheaper than at-the-money ones. An at-the-money put will run you between 8 and 10 percent of the stock's value--if you're buying an ATM put on Apple, which is over $300 per share right now, you'll pay over $30 per share in premium.
