Is high school cheer leading considered dangerous?
It depends. If your expierienced with flips and cartwheels and pyramids, you shouldn't have a problem. But, if you've never been apart of a pyramid you might have a problem. But, you should be fine. They usually have mats and stuff for practice, so, if you dont know how to do all that stuff you'll get lots of practice.
Do you have to try out for all-star cheerleading?
Most all-star gyms do make you try out, but only to be put on a level, everyone is on a team for sure.
What are some things that you should know to try out for cheerlading?
it really depends on the squad and school but any average highschool and middle school require some tumbling skills, jumps, sharp motions, loud voice, memory, as well as personality/attutude.
if you go there and try your best and dont make it just keep trying and REACH for the stars.

What is the weight limit in cheerleading?
There is absolutely no weight limit to be a cheerleader! You just have to have a good spirited attitude and be able to pump up your team and be super loud! On the other hand, there is a weight limit in some college squads, but other than that it just depends what team you try out for.
A pep phrase is a phrase cheerleaders use to get the team and audience motivated. "Let's go" and "Go team, go" are often phrases used by cheerleaders.
Why are parents outraged about the cheerleading uniforms?
Well, some parents think that their girls should be covered up. Especially the dad's. Trust me I know.
How does cheer-leading gather so much interest and hype?
Well most girls at the age of 7- 20 enjoy and find cheerleading very catchy or shall i say "cool". I have nothing against cheerleading its just another sport that people like to participate in. I think what gathers interest is the fact that its more of a freestyle sport because you get to make up routines and do any type of stunt that you are capable of. What attracts young girls is most likely the cute outfits and dance routines. Cheerleading may make girls feel like "tops" especially if they make captain. I would advise someone around the age of 7-15 to join a cheerleading team that is runned by a coach and not a captain because this wil be safer to younger girls and prevent fights, and unwanted behavior. As girls get older they might join a different type of team like where there is a captain and you go to different competitions...these type of teams are most likely to be seen in older girls because they like to show more skin and be aggresive. Any type is cool. I am not a cheerleader but in the future i may be... I know a lot of stunts and about cheerleading because I'm a junior olympic gymnast and I have friends that are cheerleaders and sisters. I also watch movies about cheerleading and i always look into it because i want to be a cheerleader when i get older. So in summarization what attracts girls to this sport is mostly the outfits, music, dance, cheers, stunts, and cool sassy attitudes!!
The term is thought to have originated in the 1850s as "lime-juicer", and was later shortened to "limey". It was originally used as a derogatory word for sailors in the Royal Navy, because of the Royal Navy's practice since the beginning of the 19th century of adding lemon juice or lime juice to the sailors' daily ration of watered-down rum (known as grog), in order to prevent scurvy.

Do some cheer squads make their players cheer with vibrators in?
No, a cheer squad would not make their cheer players cheer with anything inside them. Rumors like this are started by younger children.

Is football harder than cheerleading?
NOT EVEN CLOSE. Cheerleading is no doubt challenging, but putting your whole body at risk for your team is much more challenging.
Yes, because not only does it involve memorizing difficult routines, but it involves tumbling and stunting. Also, you must be sure to pay attention to little things that make a huge different like smiling, pointing your toes, and being tight. Oh, and stunting is extremely difficult. What would be when you're throwing a person way over your heads, having them twist and flip in the air, then having to catch them? With all of this, I'm sure that alone is harder than football. Not saying that football is easy, but cheerleading requires a lot more work and energy.
even though guys will argue this till the day they die, they don't actually realize how much competitive cheerleaders put their bodies through. yes football is taking hits and stuff but cheeerleaders also put pressure on their bodies from the constant pounding of tumbling and if you are a flyer the stretching your muscles, also being droped and bases getting hit. now i wouldn't want to run around with a ball throwing it getting hit by other people, but comeon now. it seems alot harder to throw a girl in the air and defy gravity.
There is no way to determine if a sport is "harder" than another sport.
So lets compare football and cheering (I'm going to use All-Star cheering here)
Goal of Sport:
Football: Outplay your opponent, using formations, to score the most points to win
Cheerleading: Perform a 2:30 routine (composed of stunts, tumbling, jumps, and dance) without flaws to receive a higher score than your opponent.
In terms of skill:
Football: Football requires stamina, agility, speed
Cheerleading: Cheering requires, stamina, strength, flexibility, and coordination
In terms of difficulty:
Not to down football, but I think its more difficult to throw a girl in the air, or do a back tuck than it is to throw a ball down a field.
In terms of danger:
Cheerleading is the 3rd most dangerous sport in the world. Football is the 10th
Safety:
Football: Padding and helmits
Cheerleading: NOTHING!
Cheerleading has no "off season" no half- time, no time-out and no bench
I'm the one who asked the question. dont know if it says that.
I play high school football now and my friend cheers.
As far as i can tell, cheerleading isnt much of a contact sport.
I asked this when i played all american, which was why i had doubts. hell week lasted a month and a half. practice five days a week. i didnt see a cheerleader hell week, and they only practice two days a week. and football players have safety equipment for a reason. we also have a off season, half time, time outs, and a bench for a reason. dont speak for everyone if you have a crazy cheer program.
oh and throwing girls seems to be a big theme here, if me and a few of my teamates threw a girl i think it'd be more impressive. not to burst your bubble or anything.
and YOU try to throw a ball as well as anyone on my team does.
How do you beat the other cheer squad?
There is NO guarantee that your cheer squad will win.
but you're not a good cheerleader if you are asking how to beat the other cheer squad on the Internet when you could be practicing your routine, stretching, or work on your skills.
Just remember to do YOUR best, do YOUR job, and that's all you can do! You have absolutely no control over what's going to happen during your opponent's routine, you only have control over your own.
Everybody do the Tj Rumble! Everybody do the Tj Rumble! Tj, what? what? Rumble! Oh-yeah!
