Cinderella

Cinderella's carriage was made from a pumpkin. Cinderella is riding the pumpkin carriage to the castle ball where she loses a shoe. The prince is then determined to find the girl that lost the shoe.

The denouement of the "Cinderella" story is when Cinderella's foot fits the glass slipper, and she and the Prince are reunited. They get married in a splendorous ceremony, and Cinderella forgives her wicked stepsisters. They all lived happily ever after.

Even if Cinderella had been evil and her sisters had been good, the story would not change much because the Prince was attracted to her based on her appearance at the Ball and her petite shoe size. Perhaps they would not have lived happily ever after - he might have eventually found out that she was evil and given her a divorce realising how shallow he had been in choosing a bride.

I'm not sure that Cinderella's father did die, I thought that he just went away for a while, but there might be more than one different version

Of course not, Edward Cullen is a real fictional vampire and every teenage girl whos parents will allow is sitting at his door step. Yes, Twilight is a fiction book. If it was real, I don't think there would be a single non vampire on Earth.

Yen Jun-ling/Adeline/Wu Mei (Fifth Daughter) -- the main character. She was an unwanted child because she was considered bad luck because she was told to be the cause of her mother's death

Aunt Baba -- Jun-ling's loving aunt. She's one of the few ones who takes Jun-ling's side in the family, is also Jun-ling's mother's best friend.

Ye Ye -- Jun-ling's grandfather; her father's father. He is always siding the first children.

Nai Nai -- Jun-ling's grandmother; her father's mother. She is the authority in the house.

Niang (Mother) -- Jun-ling's stepmother, is a French woman; married Jun-ling's father one year after his wife died. She takes over after Nai Nai died.

Father -- Jun-ling's father; married Niang one year after his wife died; Ye Ye and Nai Nai's only son.

Big Sister/Lydia -- the eldest daughter; takes Niang's side as the story continues. Married at the age of 17.

Big Brother/Gregory -- the eldest son, next to Big Sister. Goes to England with Second brother for college.

Second Brother/Edgar -- born after Big Brother. Goes to England with Big Brother for college.

Third Brother/James -- born after second brother and before Jun-ling. Is the only sibling Jun-ling is close to.

Fourth Younger Brother/Franklin -- Jun-ling's younger stepbrother and is Niang's little darling. He is treated especially by their father and he loves to see Ye Ye really. really. angry.

Little Sister/Susan -- the youngest daughter

Aunt Reine -- Niang's sister; rescued Jun-ling from the St. Joseph's

Uncle Jean -- Aunt Reine's husband

Claudine and Victor -- Uncle Jean and Aunt Reine's children, Jun-ling's best friends

Lin Tao-tao and Wu Chun Mei -- Jun-ling's best friends at Shanghai

Mary, Elanor and Monica -- Jun-ling's schoolmates at Sacred Heart

Mother/Mama -- Jun-ling's real mother

It's a completely fictional fairy tale- the exact origins of it are unknown, but thousands are known throughout the world. The earliest recorded version was by the Greek Geographer Strabo in about 7 BC, about a slave girl called Rhodopis who goes on to marry the King of Egypt. The most popular versions were published by the French author Charles Perrault in Histoires ou contes du temps passé in 1697, and later by the Brothers Grimm in their collection Grimm's Fairy Tales. It is an archetypal story about how good, virtuous people who are oppressed by the cruel and unjust, can get their rewards in the end. Most versions of it are set in an amorphous amalgam between Mediaeval times and the early 18th Century.

There are Cinderella stories from many cultures. The one most Americans are familiar with comes from a French fairytale credited to Charles Perrault.

Back when the story was first made in about the 11th century, the most expensive thing of the time was fur. That is why the slipper was originally fur. However, because of modern styles, changes in economy, and Hollywood magic, the fur slipper turned into a glass slipper.

To become Cinderella at Disneyland, you have to ask the manager at Disneyland!

Unknown, the fairytale doesn't say. Rumor has it in one of the sensational news magazines reports that Cinderella became frigid having been removed from the comfort of the Seven Dwarfs, upsetting Prince Charming, ending up celibate.

They did NOT write it they collected stroies from all over Germany and Cinderella was collected! However they did change it a little bit when they were being told the story they heard "glass" instead of "fur" slipper! They sound alike in german!

Fairy Godmother is believed to have transformed her rags into a grand gown and her slippers into magical glass shoes.

Additional note : What puzzles me is if her clothes changed from the gown to the dirty ones after midnight, why not her glass slippers?
