What is the lowest pitched instrument in the clarinet family?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Double bass. An instrument has the pitch higher as it's size gets smaller. Violin is very high pitched. Viola is more mellow. Cello suffices for a dramatic or romantic song. And double bass is a wonderful accomplisher for working in groups. Or that's just my opinion. Anyway double bass is your answer. Have fun :D

What is the g flat scale for a clarinet?

Asked by Wiki User

Concert d-flat is played as e-flat on the clarinet. To transpose any note from concert pitch, simply raise it one whole step; the result is the note you should play on a standard b-flat clarinet to match the concert pitch.

Is Lazarro a good clarinet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Lazarro is a good clarinet for beginners as well as some intermediate players. Also note, the instrument is only as good as the player as well as a technician to services. These two factors should also be considered when comparing brands. You can have a very nice brand such as buffet crampon, but not have the proper set up on it which of course make it a very frustrating instrument to work with. Yes, there are some brands of instruments that should be avoided as far as the first instrument. Lazaro is not one of them

What are the lyrics to strangers on the shore?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Here I stand, watching the tide go out

So all alone and blue

Just dreaming dreams of you

I watched your ship as it sailed out to sea

Taking all my dreams

And taking all of me

The sighing of the waves

The wailing of the wind

The tears in my eyes burn

Pleading, "My love, return"

Why, oh, why must I go on like this?

Shall I just be a lonely stranger on the shore?

Is the clarinet fun?

User Avatar

Asked by Memepickme

Well... I is different for every pear of eyes! To me the clarinet is a very fun instrument. But to some it is horrible

xxbunnylover23xx: I played the clarinet for a whole year and I in the beginning did not like it but it became more easy and I started to like it. Its really fun. But the bad thing is that you have to keep on licking the wreath until its wet and then you can make a really nice sound. But now I don't play it anymore because I'm in 7th grade and at my school they stop giving band lessons at that grade.

Is Harmony a good brand for a clarinet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I have never heard of that brand, but for marching band you do not need a clarinet that is as good as your concert clarinet. I have two clarinets. One is a nice wooden Yamaha that I use for concerts. The other is a plastic one. I would definitely recommend using plastic for marching band as it will be exposed to the elements.

Is sheet music for the clarinet the same as sheet music for the flute?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No but it is the same as the trumpet & piano

(Afgncaap8 disagrees, saying that clarinet music isdifferent from flute, and that it is the same as trumpet, but the clarinet has different music than the piano! The piano is a C instrument, whereas the typical trumpet and clarinet tend to be tuned to B-flat. However, usually the flute and the piano are both tuned to C, so their music could be the same.)

How loud is a clarinet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

No, unless you are referring to old models that were tuned higher than the standard of 440hz. Many of these older clarinets are marked "HP" and for most of us are something to keep away from...unless you're a collector or live in one of a few European countries that still use them.

How to do a turn on clarinet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Doing a turn on a clarinet is relatively simple, so long as you're not doing it over the bridge (middle of the staff B to middle of the staff C).

What you do is take your starting note (let's use G), go up 1 step (A), go back to your staring note (G), go down a step (F), and go back to your starting note (G).

To have this sound correct, you usually want to do a turn as quickly as possible, and near the end of the note value.

Good luck!

What is the value of a wood Bundy clarinet serial number 66142?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Bundy clarinets around that age usually sell for about $50 or less in decent condition. They are very sturdy and worthwhile to have. Unfortunately there are many on the market right now so that value has decreased.

How do you find out what type of clarinet you have?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The hard one is Bb and A. A is slightly longer than Bb. Eb is tiny, But Ab is smaller. Alto has a slightly bent barrel and bell and the bass looks like a tenor saxophone. Contrabass.... now that's a tricky one. The straight one looks like a stretched bass, but the curly one looks like a paperclip.

What saxophone is shaped like a clarinet?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The B-flat soprano saxophone is in the same key as the common B-flat soprano clarinet. In other words, the sounding pitches on their respective music would be the same.

The clarinet and saxophone families both have many instruments in them, and they are mostly pitched either in B-flat or E-flat, with some exceptions, one being the C-melody saxophone.

How do you keep clarinet in mouth?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To tongue on your clarinet all you do is put it in playing position (mouthpiece, wet reed and ligature all in place, then you press your bottom lip flat on reed and bite down with top teeth. Keep lip muscles clenched) Position your tongue inside your mouth so it is in a point (not flat) and tap your reed with your tongue to the rhythm.

What always helped me was to say "too". Also keep a continuous flow of air, but stop it by pressing your top hard against reed.

I hope this helped! :)

What was the clarinet originally used for?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The Chalumeaux. It was very popular shortly after its invention in the late 17th century, as it sounded like nothing else availiable at the time. Though the name now belongs to the bass register of the clarinet family, there are plenty of companies online that make very good replicas of the original instrument.
