Why is a clarinet in b flat key?
The Bb Clarinet is the most common type of clarinet. The Bb shows that the clarinet is tuned to that note, just like an Eb clarinet is tuned to an Eb. If a Bb clarinet and a flute both play an "A" the notes will sound different, because they are tuned to different notes. In order to make the notes sound the same, the Bb Clarinet must play a semitone up, which is a "Bb".
What does a clarinet look like?
The saxophone actually has many sounds which it can make. Firstly, the sound depends on the type of saxophone, for example an alto sounds much more fluent and bright than a baritone which is low and hoarse. Secondly, a saxophone player is able to create many sounds by blowing differently, over-blowing produces a harsher tone while softer blowing is much more mellow.

A player blows down the reed attached to the mouthpiece, which vibrates and gives sound. The pitch is produced when the air blows out of the holes on the clarinet and out of the bell at the bottom. The pitch can be changed by closing or opening holes, changing the amount of air that can escape and changing the note. The timbre can be changed by using a mute, which partially covers the bell at the bottom.

How many clarinets are in a band?
There are usually one 1st clarinet and one 2nd clarinet. But sometimes the orchestras are larger so they double it to then have 4 people playing. Also, sometimes the pieces require more clarinets such as bass, piccolo, contralto and so on, because of this, then you will need 4, 5 or sometimes more players.
What is the model number on a noblet clarinet with serial number 25887?
you can usually find it on the bell and the barrel, sometimes even the ligature that came with it, of your clarinet.
How has the clarinet changed over time?
The clarinet used to be made of a typre of wood, called grenadilla wood. Now, many clarinets are made of different woods, plastics, metals, and sizes. The type of clarinet depends on what it's made from, and how it's designed.
The saxophone is usually used as a member of a jazz or wind ensemble. There are a few symphonic works that include music for saxophone (e.g. Dukas' Sorcerer's Apprentice), and a number of concertos featuring saxophone as a soloist, the majority of the standard works for orchestra do not include saxophone. Outside of jazz, the sax family (including the standard tenor sax and the larger baritone, and sometimes others) is used most commonly in wind ensembles and marching bands.
How do you play you just cant wait to be king on clarinet?
Well, first you get the sheet music, then you transpose (or arrange) it for clarinet if that's not already been done, then you play it. I'm not sure what you were really wanting from us, since I'm not about to sit here and type out all the notes, even if I knew them. (Among other reasons, it's probably a violation of copyright.)
If you're asking where you can get the sheet music, you might try musicnotes.com, or a local music store. It shouldn't be too hard to extract the melodic line from the piano score.
NO! Never soak your clarinet in water, and try your best to keep it out of humid climates. Humidity and water will ruin the pads covering your clarinet's holes and loosen the cork around the joints, leaving it unable to produce any noise and impossible to put together. The only part of a clarinet that can withstand moisture is the mouthpiece, and this is only if it is plastic (as most clarinet mouthpieces are plastic). Do however swab out the insides of your clarinet on a regular basis and clean the holes with a Q-tip and wipe down the clarinet body with a soft rag or towel.

Are tenor saxophones in the same key as clarinet?
Yes, essentially. There can be slight variations.
All saxophones have the same fingering system.
For example, the baritone saxophone might have a low 'A' key.
And a 'high F#' is something that is added to some saxophones too.
How do you make clarinet reeds?
1. wet the reed using your mouth until it is moist.
2. Line up the reed and the mouth peice
3. get the ligature(the metal, rubber or plastic thing) and slide it over the mouth peice.
4. line up the reed, mouth peice and ligature then tighten the ligature.
5. make sure the ligature is past the light yellow part of the reed.
6. build your clarinet together and blow into it.
The best reed brand I recommend is Vandorean. Rico is a very bad brand and will break easily.Does the clarinet play piano music written in the key of C?
The question is worded vaguely, but: A good clarinet player can READ and PLAY piano music (of course excluding chords & notes outside of the clarinets range). If the music is WRITTEN in the key of c, played directly on the clarinet, it will SOUND in the key of Bb (B flat). Therefore, the clarinet is considered a "Bb instrument," along with bass clarinet, contrabass clarinet; soprano, tenor and bass saxophones, trumpet and a few other odd instruments. Music for these "transposing" instruments must be rewritten or transposed in the key of D in order to sound in the key of C. Hope that helps, ZoeyStLeopard
Why was Upton Sinclair so important?
Upton Sinclairs' father was an alcoholic liquor salesman who could barley provide for his family. However Sinclair had wealthy grandparents and he spent a considerable amount of time with them.
This gave him insight on how both the rich and poor lived during the late 19th century. Personally experiencing the contrasts between wealth and poverty affected him and highly influenced his novels.
How do you play a D note on clarinet?

Is the clarinet a good instrument?
The clarinet is a million times easier than the saxophone in every aspect. First because clarinet is just like piano where the notes are very easy. But on saxophone there are extra flats and sharps, you have to study things that you don't have to on clarinet, you need more air for saxophone, and the saxophone is very heavy!
On clarinet you learn how to play all the notes in less than a month. If you play saxophone you learn the notes in more than 5 months! The saxophone is a lot harder! If you play saxophone, you need to layer your fingering more precisely too. Also they are tuned differently too. So if you play in a concert, the notes you play will be very confusing on the saxophone. Also the clarinet is very light. So it will be very easy to play clarinet than saxophone. So for my opinion clarinet is easier.
People out there who think sax is easier, you are wrong. Clarinet is a million times easier than the saxophone in every aspect.
Also for saxophone you need more air for blowing. You get tired more easily too. I admit clarinet squeaks a lot. But once you get used to it, you will stop squeaking. People out there who think sax is easier, you are wrong. Clarinet is much easier than the saxophone.
Also for saxophone you need more air for blowing. You get tired more easily too. I admit clarinet squeaks a lot. But once you get used to it, you will stop squeaking. I play clarinet and saxophone and I can't keep up with saxophone. So please when you consider on choosing your instrument between clarinet and saxophone, choose clarinet.
The previous answer has a point, with the fact that it's a very heavy instrument, depending on which one you play, and the tuning is very confusing as well. But in essence, the clarinet and the saxophone are very similar instruments. Both use a single reed mouthpiece, the same grip on the mouthpiece can be used, and the fingerings are actually very similar. The clarinet is much easier to start off with, but it is very hard to become a master of the clarinet. Especially when the vast majority of the classical music out there has the clarinet playing in it's highest register. The Saxophone however, is quite hard to start off with, but to become very good at the instrument, is very easy when compared to the clarinet.
The hardest thing with the saxophone are the harmonics. The harmonics of the instrument is the vibration of the reed creating the sound, and depending on the vibration of the reed, created a different tone. With the saxophone's harmonics, it is very hard to play lower than a G when first starting, because the harmonics of the instrument make it very hard to control the pitch. You tighten your grip on the mouthpiece, the note jumps an octave. To play a low C, for example, you must drop your jaw and blow very hard to sound the note. It is also very hard to tongue in this register; I find it easier to use the lower jaw to articulate in this register.
I play both Clarinet and Tenor Saxophone, which are both tuned in the of Bb, and Clarinet was my first instrument. Yes, it is very easy to squeak on the Clarinet, but it is not very easy to squeak on the Sax, even if you try. I started the Sax after two and a half years of Clarinet, and I got the hang of the clarinet within a month, playing all the way up the register and down. I got better on saxophone in about 5 months so man468 has a point about that.
My point is; it depends on the playing style. If you play alot of concert band material, switching from clarinet to sax is fairly easy. Playing Classical repertoire,
with the higher notes, sax will turn out to be very hard and frustrating at first. Plus, the weight isn't really a factor, the whole instrument's weight is held on the neck strap, and if you get a really good padded one, it's great playing the sax. Your lungs quickly get used to the amount of air needed for the sax. It's mostly the amount of pressure you force the air into the instrument, not how much air is needed. Hope this helped alot, and kudos to Man468 for a great answer as well. Cheers :) -KevinV97
They're similar and it's hard to say which is harder, because everyone has a hard time with certain areas where both the instruments demand. For example, the clarinet requires precise tone hole covering while the sax doesn't and the sax requires more air while the clarinet doesn't really need as much air. It's different for everyone, but the norm is that the sax is easier.
3rd Answer:
I play clarinet, soprano, alto, and tenor sax. Sax is much easier. The fingerings are the same or similar, but the clarinet has the dreaded bridge between the low and middle register. The sax is designed with a couple of extra keys to make the 'bridge' simple. The upper register of the clarinet uses different fingering: something that you don't need to memorize when playing sax. A beginner should start with the clarinet . . . moving on to sax is dead simple in comparison!
Which clarinet brand is better anaxa or laval?
I recently purchased an Anaxa clarinet and it had improved my playing and mouth positioning. Laval is a cheap brand. My Laval clarinet broke within a week of playing and needed two hundred dollars worth of pad repairs
Clarinet is what kind of instrument?
A Clarinet is a straight instrument in the woodwind family. The most common clarinet is called a Bb (B flat) clarinet. Next to the bassoon, the clarinet has the largest pitch ranges.
A Clarinet breaks down into 5 sections:
The mouth piece
The barrel
The upper joint
The lower joint
The bell
In order to make sound, a clarinet requires a single reed (other instruments in this family, such as an oboe, require a double reed), commonly made from cane. The air rushing past the reed causes it to vibrate, making a sound.
Reeds come in different thicknesses on a grade of 1-5. 1 being the easiest to play, 5 the hardest. However, a better sounding noise will come from a grade 5 reed.
Where can you find clarinet sheet music to Kingdom Hearts?
How do you clean a clarinet mouth piece?
You can go to a instrument shop hopefully with accessories and they sell a spray bottle with a special alcohol in it. it may be green that is what color it is suppose to be. if you spray one side turn it spray the opposite side then spray the inside and it may taste weird just use it the way it is. it will wear off and do that every time you need to. Or place the mouth piece in boiling water for about 5 minutes. It will be very hot so be careful! You should do this if you got sick. They both kill the germs on the mouth piece.
