An NFL team, as in almost every other organized sport chooses the "starting" players based on talent, and ability shown through practice or other evaluation. Sometimes if a player has violated certain rules and regulations set by the coach, organization, or NFL the player will not be allowed to play in the game. Also, even tho certain members of the team may not be listed as starting, they could gain the opportunity to play later in the game as substitutes, as for an injured player, or for use in a specific situation that would require the skills of such player.
Manning wore No. 18 In honor of his older brother Cooper, who could not continue playing football in college because of a congenitive spinal problem. Cooper wore 18 at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, and was Peyton's favorite receiver when they played there together.
Their father, Archie Manning, wore No. 18 at the University of Mississippi from 1968 to 1970.
Since 1999, the Cleveland Browns have played at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to that the Browns played at Municipal Stadium, which was torn down to have Cleveland Browns Stadium built in it's place.
The Cleveland Browns have never won, let alone played in, a Super Bowl. However, they did win the NFL Championship in 1950, 1954, 1955, and 1964 before the merger and creation of the Super Bowl.
The 49ers didn't win the SB in 1992... they won in '81, '88, 89 and '94. But there were a lot of players that were Super Bowl winners on the '92 team. If you look at some of the footballs that have a single signature like Montana, Young, Rice, etc. you will see that each ball can sell for up to $400 depending on the quality of the signature and ball signed on.
I have a team autographed ball from the 1992 team (First and second string players and coaches). I am guessing that ball is worth several thousand dollars. You just don't see many coaches autographed items out there... so rarity comes into play there. I would be interested in having my ball appraised too.
